On February 3rd, 2023 at approximately 2139 Hours Deputy A. J. MILLS with the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division responded to [100 BLOCK] Carter St Lot #[REDACTED], Calhoun, Gordon County, Georgia in reference to a physical domestic.

Upon arrival on Scene Deputy MILLS met with the victim [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] appeared to be scared when she opened the door to the residence. Deputy MILLS observed Ms. [VICTIM #1] to have bruising around both eyes and on her nose. Ms. [VICTIM #1] appeared to be very shaken up and was talking with a low voice. Ms. [VICTIM #1] invited Deputy MILLS inside the residence Deputy MILLS Observed Ms. [VICTIM #1] to be limping and wearing a knee brace on her left knee. Deputy MILLS also observed wounds on Ms. [VICTIM #1]’S knees and feet.

Deputy MILLS asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] what had happened. Ms. [VICTIM #1] took the brace off of her left knee. Deputy MILLS observed her knee to be swollen. Ms. [VICTIM #1] showed Deputy MILLS several holes in the walls of the residence and a broken bathroom door. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated JOSHUA ADAM KNIGHT had beaten her threw her into the bathroom door and into the walls. Ms. [VICTIM #1] showed Deputy MILLS one of the holes in the bathroom wall and stated Mr. KNIGHT put her head through the wall. Deputy MILLS observed the hole in the wall to be the size of Ms. [VICTIM #1]s head.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] showed Deputy MILLS her arms and sides. Deputy MILLS observed a large black bruise on Ms. [VICTIM #1]’S left arm and another bruise on her right arm. Deputy MILLS observed bruising that looked like finger prints on the back of Ms. [VICTIM #1]’S arms. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she had more but asked for a female officer. SGT CHILDERS was on scene and requested a female city officer to be in route. Deputy MILLS asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] when the incident occurred. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated Tuesday January 31st this week. Deputy MILLS asked why she didn’t report it sooner. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated Mr. KNIGHT took her phone from her when she tried to call for help and Mr. KNIGHT broke it.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she was able to get her sons laptop hooked up today and was able to contact her mother through social media to get help. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated today was her birthday and she asked Mr. KNIGHT to let her have some alone time at home for her birthday. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated Mr. KNIGHT left but she did not know where he was. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated [WITNESS #1] a friend and neighbor of Mr. KNIGHT was present and seen what had happened. Ms. [VICTIM #1] also stated that Ms. [WITNESS #1] handed Ms. [VICTIM #1] phone to Mr. KNIGHT during the incident.

CPD K CHILDERS arrived on scene and went inside with Ms. [VICTIM #1] and took photographs of Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s injuries while Deputy MILLS and SGT CHILDERS waited outside. CPD CHILDERS advised Deputy MILLS Ms. [VICTIM #1]’S nipple had been bruised and cut but Ms. [VICTIM #1] did not want pictures of it taken. Deputy MILLS took photographs of the holes in the walls and a TV that had been ripped off the wall and thrown in the yard by Mr. KNIGHT.

Deputy MILLS asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] if she would like to be checked out by EMS. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated yes because she has not felt right and her head has been hurting since the incident. Deputy MILLS had 911 to have EMS in route. Deputy MILLS asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] if she was not able to get out of the residence. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated no Mr. KNIGHT held her against her will from leaving the residence.

EMS arrived on scene and advised they would be transporting Ms. [VICTIM #1] to Gordon Advent hospital.

Deputy MILLS went to Ms. [WITNESS #1] residence at the end of the street. Deputy MILLS asked Ms. [WITNESS #1] what had happened to Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated on Monday or Tuesday she was at Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Mr. KNIGHT’s residence and they got into an argument and she left.

Deputy MILLS took state warrants on Mr. KNIGHT for Battery FVA, False Imprisonment FVA, Interference with 911 call and Criminal Damage to property 2nd Degree. Deputy MILLS preserved the photographs on GCSO database for evidence.
