Warning: The following report describes alleged sexual violence.

GORDON COUNTY, Ga. – Authorities arrested a 32-year-old Tennessee man on May 4, 2024, and charged him with rape and sexual battery for allegedly assaulting a 21-year-old woman. A Calhoun police officer met with the victim, who explained that she had only met Jacob Daniel Jones via Snapchat but never in person before this day.

The officer noted that the victim had been crying and found it difficult to describe what had occurred. The victim said she had the day off from work and made plans to spend time with Jones.

She said Jones picked her up from her residence, and they went to Trackside Pizza, where he told her he possessed a permit to carry a concealed weapon. His statement made her believe he was armed.

She stated that he slid his hand inside the front of her pants and stuck his fingers into her genitalia. She told him to stop and tried pushing his hand away.

He then drove them to the Baymont Inn and booked a room. Inside, she sat on the bed, and he pulled her towards him and placed his arm around her.

When he moved his hand onto her genitalia from the outside of her pants, she pushed his hand away. Jones stood up, and she saw anger in his eyes.

He stated, “You’re going to regret doing that,” and removed everything from his pockets before ripping off her panties with force. He removed his pants and underwear, got on top of her, forced her legs open, and shoved his hand inside of her.

She repeatedly told him no and to stop. He placed a condom on, pinned her arms over her head, and proceeded to rape her.

Officers traveled to the Baymont Inn to collect Jones and transport him to the Calhoun Police Department for his interview. An officer then transported him to the Gordon County Jail.

This case is pending.

On Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 0130 hours I was dispatched to the Calhoun Police Department in reference to an assault report.

Upon arrival I made contact with the complainant/victim [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and her friend [REDACTED BY AGENCY] When I spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] I observed she was visually upset with watery eyes that appeared that she had been crying. I also observed a large purple bruise across her neck. I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] what happenend and she stated, her and this guy now identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had been friends for some time on snapchat but have never met in person. She had a hard time telling me what happended due to being so upset. She then stated she told [REDACTED BY AGENCY] she was off work today and then her and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] made plans to hang out.

She stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] arrived at her residence around 2100 hours and he picked her up and they went to Trackside Pizza (112 South Park Ave, Calhoun, Ga 30701). She stated when they arrived they sat down at the bar and he ordered food but she did not eat. She stated when they was sitting there talking [REDACTED BY AGENCY] mentioned that he had a conceal carry permit which led her to believe he was armed. She then stated he ran his hand inside the front of her pants and stuck his fingers in her va*ina. She stated that she tried to push his hand away and she told him to stop.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she wanted to get around some people to be safe so she suggested they go play pool in the other room. They went in there but they did not play pool. She then stated they went to his truck and began driving to the Baymont inn (125 Hampton Drive, Calhoun, Ga 30701). She stated once they arrived around 2300-2330 hours [REDACTED BY AGENCY] got a room and then her and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] went into the room he booked (Room [REDACTED]). She then stated she sat on the bed and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] got on the bed and pulled her towards him and put his arm around her. She stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then put his hand on her va*ina from the outside of her shorts and she pushed his hand away.

She then stated when she did this [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stood up and she stated she could see the look of anger in his eyes. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said “Your going to regret doing that”. She stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] took everything out of his pockets and then he ripped her panties and shorts off with force. She stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then stood up and took his pants and underwear off and then he got on top of her and forced her legs open and shoved his hand inside of her va*ina. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she told him “no” multiple times and also told him to stop multiple times.

She stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then put a condom on and then pinned her arms over her head and stuck his pe*is inside her va*ina. At this point I stopped interviewing [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and I called Sgt. J. Phillips #25 and advised him what I had and that I needed the on call detective to be contacted. E911 advised Lt. D. Nelson #09 was on call. Lt. Nelson was contacted and he advised he would be enroute.

I then asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] what happenend to get his side of the story and he stated at 0023 hours [REDACTED BY AGENCY] contacted him via snapchat to come get her and she sent him her location. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] arrived and helped [REDACTED BY AGENCY] get her stuff in his car and they left. He then stated they came to the Police Department after that.

Once Lt. Nelson arrived the call was turned over to him. After he spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] he advised me to go to the Baymont inn and pick up [REDACTED BY AGENCY] for questioning. At 0324 hours myself, Officer B. Ayala #30, Officer J, Orellena #39, Sgt. J. Phillips #25 and Lt. M. Tanner #16 arrived at the Baymont inn. Officer Orellena knocked on the door and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] came to the door. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was then placed in handcuffs behind his back with proper fit. I then double locked the cufs.

I then escorted [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to my patrol car and transported him to the Calhoun Police Department. Lt. Nelson then conducted his interview with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. After the interview with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was completed Officer Orellena transported him to the Gordon County Jail. I then transported [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to the Child Advocacy Center (CDC) for her forensic interview.
