On Thursday, 20 October 2022, at approximately 1217 hours, Deputy J.T. FOWLER, with the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division, responded to [900 BLOCK] Lance Road, Calhoun, Gordon County, Georgia, in reference to an assault report.
Upon arrival, Deputy FOWLER met with [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated the reason law enforcement had been contacted was for incidents involving her daughter, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who was a juvenile at the time the incidents occurred. [WITNESS #1] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had been occupied at the time Deputy FOWLER arrived. [WITNESS #1] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] friend’s brother, MICHAEL SCOTT SPILLERS, had sexually molested [REDACTED BY AGENCY] on multiple occasions when she was a juvenile, aged thirteen (13) to seventeen (17). [WITNESS #1] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised the family of the incidents last Sunday, 16 October 2022. [WITNESS #1] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] wanted to report the incident and possibly prosecute.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] entered the room while [WITNESS #1] and Deputy FOWLER were speaking. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she was at her friend’s residence, believed to be [3500 BLOCK] US 411, Ranger, Georgia, 30734, in December 2018, when she was thirteen (13) years old. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she then met her friend’s brother (MICHAEL), who was nineteen (19) years old at the time, when he moved back into his mother’s residence. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated their relationship escalated in January 2019. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she and MICHAEL did not have sexual intercourse until she was fourteen (14) years old but did “other things” leading up to that while she was thirteen (13) years old.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the relationship remained a secret under threats of suicide and other statements. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the relationship lasted from January 2019 to March 2022. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated on multiple occasions she did not want to have sex with MICHAEL and would tell him no. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated MICHAEL would force himself onto her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated MICHAEL would sometimes get extremely rough during intercourse. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated MICHAEL shoved her around or shoved her down several times.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she had not seen MICHAEL since March 2022 and had no contact with him since July 2022, when he sent her a text message.
[WITNESS #1] stated since [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had come forward with the information, she and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had created a basic timeline without going into detail of individual incidents. [WITNESS #1] sent Deputy FOWLER a copy via his county issued e-mail address. Deputy FOWLER attached a copy to the report.
Deputy FOWLER advised his supervisor of the incidents. Deputy FOWLER was advised to complete a report and detectives would be in contact with [WITNESS #1] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] soon.
