On Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2106 hours, DEPUTY C.L. HILES with the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] HERRINGTON BEND RD SW, CALHOUN, GORDON COUNTY, GEORGIA, in reference to a male subject calling and harassing the CALHOUN POLICE DEPARTMENT.

Before arriving on scene, DEPUTY HILES contacted the CALHOUN POLICE DEPARTMENT, and spoke with the receptionist, a female subject later identified as [WITNESS #1]. MS. [WITNESS #1] stated that while attempting to help the subject he became belligerent and stated there was “a damn dead Mexican” and “send their motherfu*king a*s again” as law enforcement had previously been at his residence, [100 BLOCK] HERRINGTON BEND RD SW, CALHOUN, GORDON COUNTY, GEORGIA earlier on this date.

Upon arrival DEPUTY HILES made contact with the male subject and he was identified as MURPHY BRET COURTNEY. MR. COURTNEY appeared to be in a very intoxicated state and stated he wanted to call his parents. On the previous call from earlier in the night, deputies had assisted MR. COURTNEY to make contact with his mother and after contact was made MR. COURTNEY went inside of his residence. After asking MR. COURTNEY why he called he could not give a direct answer to deputies but kept stating he wanted help calling his parents. DEPUTY HILES asked MR. COURTNEY if he would like to go to the hospital to get help and MR. COURTNEY refused. MR. COURTNEY was placed under arrest and and DEPUTY HILES took out a MAGISTRATE COURT CITATION for DISORDERLY CONDUCT.
