n 03/16/2026 at approximately 2055 hours as I was patrolling the area of Highway 53 East near Kenmoreland Cir I observed a blue in color Honda Civic with a broken right taillight lens which was emitting white light.
At 2059 hours I activated my emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle listed above. Final stop being in the Indian Hills Shopping Center in between the Mattress Firm and Captain D’s.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised he was on probation. The passengers of the vehicle were identified as Payton White and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised to me he was also on probation.
I then went back to my patrol vehicle to run all of the occupants in the vehicle through GCIC/NCIC. GCIC/NCIC returns showed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had warrants for his arrest through Floyd County and that his license was suspended. I then requested another unit to meet with me due to the driver having warrants and there being multiple passengers.
After Ofc. Ayala #30 arrived on scene with me, I walked back to the driver’s side window and advised Brodix to step out of the vehicle. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then stated, “what for?”. I then advised to him again to step out of the vehicle, he then leans toward Payton “his girlfriend” and gives her a kiss, and while he is kissing her, he puts the car in drive and drives into the Indian Hills Shopping Center at a high rate of speed. Officer Ayala #30 then advised dispatch we were in a vehicle pursuit. I observed the vehicle turn left toward Highway 53 E from the Indian Hills Shopping Center but lost visual of the vehicle after it made the turn.
I drove East bound on Highway 53 E and was unable to locate the vehicle.
Shortly after I notified dispatch I had lost visual, dispatch received a call from a driver on Highway 53 E. The caller advised that a blue vehicle was driving erratically and pulled into Chipotle and multiple occupants fled the vehicle on foot.
Officers then relocated to the area of Chipotle. Officers did not locate the blue in color Honda Civic that fled the traffic stop. At approximately 2120 hours, Officer Kirby #93 advised dispatch he was out with a suspiclous male at the Calhoun Garden’s apartments. I then relocated to the area and identified the male as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised he did run on foot from the blue Honda Civic after Brodix parked it at Chipotle. At 2128 hours I placed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] under arrest.
I then transported Jason to the Gordon County Jail where he was released for booking. As I was in route to the jail, dispatch advised Deputy Ralston #954 located the blue in color Honda Civic at Advent Health Gordon. Deputy Ralston also advised he located Payton White. Officer Ayala #30 then put himself in route to Advent Health Gordon. Ofc. Ayala advised that Payton advised she drove the vehicle from Chipotle to Advent Health Gordon after [REDACTED BY AGENCY] fled the vehicle on foot. Ofc. Ayala placed Payton under arrest at 2128 hours. Ofc. Ayala advised he detected a odor of marijuana emitting from the interior of the vehicle, so he and Ofc. Gregory #40 conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. Ofc. Ayala and Ofc. Gregory located Narcan, 2 cell phones, a silver spoon, and a syringe containing a clear liquid. They located these items at approximately 2150 hours.
Ofc. Ayala transported Payton to the Gordon County Jail without further incident.
Due to Ofc. Ayala and Ofc. Gregroy locating the silver spoon and the syringe containing a clear liquid, I read [REDACTED BY AGENCY] his Miranda Rights.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised he wished to speak with me. I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] if he knew of any illegal drugs inside of the vehicle and he advised he did not. I advised [REDACTED BY AGENCY] a syringe containing a clear liquid was found inside of the vehicle and he advised he did not know what it as nor who’s it was.
Ofc. Ayala advised to me he read Payton her Miranda Rights and she wished to speak with him. Ofc. Ayala dvised Payton did not claim ownership of the syringe nor did she know anything about it.
After I arrived back to the Calhoun Police Department, I tested the clear liquid which was in the syringe in a Methamphetamine/MDMA field test kit. The test kit showed a positive reaction/reading for Methamphetamine.
Photos of the field test kit and syringe have been uploaded to Axon Capture.
Warrants for Reckless driving, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Possession of Methamphetamine, Obstruction/Hinder of Officer, Fleeing/Attempting to Elude Officer, Driving While License Suspended, and Tail Light Lenses have been applied for against [REDACTED BY AGENCY].
Warrants for Obstruction/Hinder of Officer, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Related Objects have been applied for against [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Payton.
