Follow Rape suspect found hiding in child’s bedroom closet inside Gordon County home

GORDON COUNTY, Ga. – Authorities arrested a 19-year-old Calhoun man and charged him with child molestation and statutory rape after he was discovered hiding inside a child’s bedroom closet on Friday, December 27, 2024.
The family called 911 about the intruder, and Gordon County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Fox Street residence. A witness reported that they confronted the suspect before he fled the scene.
After evidence was collected and interviews were conducted that day, authorities apprehended Sergio Hernandez-Vicente the following day and transported him to the Gordon County Jail.
This case is pending in court.
