On December 14, 2025, at approximately 1241 hours, I responded to [1200 BLOCK] Mauldin Rd Apt [REDACTED], in reference to a domestic dispute.
Upon my arrival, I was waved down by [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he lived in apartment [REDACTED]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that the victim (identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY]) was in his apartment due to her not having a phone to call 911.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he was unloading groceries from his vehicle when [REDACTED BY AGENCY] came up to him asking for help. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he observed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] appeared to have been beaten up. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that the attacker (identified as Romin Seritt) came to his door and wanted to talk to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who is his girlfriend. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised he told [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to go inside his apartment, where they would be separated. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Mr. Seritt tried to open the door [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told Mr. Seritt to leave “the cops are on their way,” Mr. Seritt left.
I spoke to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and asked her if she knew where Mr. Seritt would be, due to other officers checking the area and Mr. Seritt not being located. I obtained permission from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to search her residence, Apartment #[REDACTED], for Mr. Seritt. Mr. Seritt was nowhere to be found inside the residence. Upstairs, I observed blood on the floor in the master bedroom as well as in the downstairs bathroom.
As I exiting the apartment, a bystander stated he saw Mr. Seritt running away from the scene, toward Mauldin Road, before officers arrived at the scene. The description given was that Mr. Seritt was 6’1 skinny, wearing a gray sweater. Other officers on scene were able to leave to check the area for Mr. Seritt. After being unsuccessful, Officer Awad put out a bolo for Mr. Seritt to the Gordon County Sheriffs.
After searching for Mr. Seritt, I advised dispatch to roll EMS on scene. I observed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with a bloody nose and bloody and swollen lips. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was transported to Advent Health Gordon to be treated for her injuries.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that it all started yesterday, on December 13, when both [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Mr. Seritt started having a conversation about their relationship. At approximately 12am, on this date, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Mr. Seritt began accusing [REDACTED BY AGENCY] of getting other guys in the house when he wasn’t home.
She said Mr. Seritt got mad out of nowhere and just started strangling her on the couch in the living room. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Mr. Seritt’s hands were wrapped around her neck while being over her. Ms. [REDACTED] stated Mr. Seritt told her to go to sleep. Ms. [REDACTED] stated she closed her eyes to make him think she was asleep and he then got off of her, walked to the kitchen and came riaht back.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Mr. Seritt got on top of her again and slapped her multiple times asking [REDACTED BY AGENCY] if she was asleep. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that Mr. Seritt then proceed to get on top of her, wrapping his hands once again around her neck. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she tried to fight back but that Mr. Seritt would only get stronger.
Ms. [REDACTED] advised me she was scared for her life the second time due to Mr. Seritt strangling her harder and was to the point where she passed out but also caused her to foam from her mouth, and thinking hes going to kill me. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated after the incident at about 0200-0300 hours, she went to bed after Mr. Seritt asked for forgiveness multiple times.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that on December 14, 2025, at approximately 1150 hours, she woke up and realized she had started her period. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised she got up and took a shower to get cleaned up. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she woke up Mr. Seritt to let him know that she was going to change the bed sheets due to her bleeding through and staining the bed.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Mr. Seritt was got up from bed and looking into the mirror, where he observed a knot on his forehead close to his eyebrow. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Mr. Seritt told her why she had done that to him. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she told Mr. Seritt it wasn’t her.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] tried to walk downstairs when Mr. Seritt grabbed her from her shirt and threw her on the bed. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Mr. Seritt was standing over her and started punching her across the face with both hands. I asked Ms. [REDACTED] how she knew if he was slapping her or punching her. Ms. [REDACTED] stated it was closed fist due to not feeling like a slap. I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] if it was one-handed or both hands. She stated it was with both hands due to Mr. Seritt having blood on both hands.
Mr. Seritt was not on scene upon my arrival and was put out as a bolo for Gordon County. I obtained state warrants on Mr. Seritt. I also obtained a victim statement from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] as well as a Witness statement from Mr. [WITNESS #1].
