On Saturday October 4th at 1243 hours Deputy J.L. HOLCOMBE of The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division was dispatched to an unknown problem at [10 BLOCK] Hammond Drive in Plainville in reference to domestic situation.

Upon arrival Deputy HOLCOMBE spoke with [WITNESS #1] who stated he and his fiance SAMANTHA KINSEY had been arguing after she came in the residence upset with him for asking her to call 911 to get an ambulance for his swollen ankles. [WITNESS #1] insists the argument was verbal only and that he wanted to be transported to the hospital by EMS who was on scene.

Deputy HOLCOMBE then spoke with KINSEY who stated she was in a heated argument with her fiance who was in his wheel car when her daughter (juvenile 1) got in between the two to stop the altercation. KINSEY struck (juvenile 1) with an open hand on the left side of her head during this altercation. KINSEY stated once that she didn’t mean to strike her daughter. This altercation took place in the living room of the single wide mobile home.

Deputy HOLCOMBE then spoke with (juvenile 1) who stated she was in a bedroom of the residence and heard the two arguing . She went into living room and got between her mother and her father to stop the arguing when her mother hit her with her hand on the left side of her face. The juvenile also said she was scratched on the arm during the altercation. Deputy HOLCOMBE did not observe and redness or injury to the child’s head but did notice a small scratch on her left arm.

Deputy HOLCOMBE spoke with KINSEY and asked about placement of the juvenile concerning her pending arrest. KINSEY requested the juvenile stay with her aunt [REDACTED] who resides directly in front of her at [10 BLOCK] HAMMOND Drive. Deputy HOLCOMBE confirmed this with [REDACTED] who took custody of the child. Deputy HOLCOMBE then placed KINSEY under arrest and she was transported by Deputy FLIPPEN to The GCSO Jail without incident.

Deputy HOLCOMBE contacted the on call DFACS [REDACTED] who was given the facts of the case and agreed the juvenile should be left with [REDACTED] and asked for a DFACS Referral.

A DFACS Referral was generated and sent to DFACS by email.

State warrants were secured for KINSEY for Simple Battery Fva and Cruelty To Children in The First Degree.
