Officer’s Narrative:

On Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at approximately 2248 hours Deputy D.B. LACKEY with the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division was dispatched to 1090 Red Bud Rd NE, Calhoun, Gordon County, Ga 30701 (Bp Gas station) in reference to a possible rape in progress.

Deputy LACKEY arrived on scene and made contact with the Victim [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was found in the women’s bathroom by Deputies on scene. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was very frantic and was in shock of the situation that had just occurred. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] explained to Deputy LACKEY that she had met a black male subject that was known by “AK” through a female named [REDACTED]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told Deputy LACKEY that she did not know AK’s legal name.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] told Deputy LACKEY that she had went to the Carriage Apartments ([900 BLOCK] Red Bud Rd NE, Calhoun, Ga 30701) to meet AK to purchase some marijuana for sixty dollars. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told Deputy LACKEY that AK asked her to take him to the Bp Gas station. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] agreed and when leaving AK’s residence he asked her to place the marijuana she was buying from him behind the gas cap just in case they were to get pulled over. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told Deputy LACKEY that when entering the Bp they parked at gas pump number nine and parked so she could put fuel into her vehicle. AK then asked her to take him back to his residence for an unknown reason.

They arrived back at the Carriage Apartments and traveled back to the Bp gas station within minutes. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] parked her vehicle in front of the store in camera view. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and AK started arguing back and forth about the marijuana she was purchasing from him. AK then kept telling [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that she had stolen it and he wanted it back. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] went inside the Bp and tried to dispose of the marijuana in the women’s bathroom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told Deputy LACKEY that [REDACTED] (AK’s) girlfriend had walked into the bathroom after her. [REDACTED] stated that AK was not in his right state of mind, and would possibly do something “crazy” to her if the marijuana was not given back. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that [REDACTED] took the marijuana out of the garbage can and went back outside.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she then walked outside to her car and told AK to exit her vehicle. AK refused and kept saying he wanted his marijuana back. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she tried explaining to AK that [REDACTED] had already obtained it from the women’s bathroom. AK then started calling for his “aunt” to come “handle” [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that a black female came to her driver side where she was sitting in the vehicle and opened her door. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told Deputy LACKEY that the unknown woman then grabbed her by the neck in a sexual manner, and tried to remove her pants off of her body. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told Deputy LACKEY that the female subject then penetrated her v*gina with her fingers and “curled them up” inside of her because she believed that the marijuana that was being purchased was stored inside of her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] tried to get away during the struggle and stated there were multiple people that were surrounding her vehicle that were familiar with AK. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated after a few moments went by AK and the unidentified female subject fled from the scene. AK ran back towards the Carriage Apartments turned around and drew a hand gun. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then stated that AK then proceeded to point it towards her while calling her a “police calling b*tch”.

Deputy LACKEY had sent pictures to multiple LEOs in the area to be see if someone could identify AK. Sgt JASON PHILLIPS with the Calhoun Police Department told Deputy LACKEY that he was very familiar with the subject and his name was SHAWN PALMER. Deputy LACKEY showed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] a picture of the male subject in question and she stated that the picture shown was the correct subject. All video captured from the in store cameras were given to the detective division.

Deputy LACKEY notified proper chain of command and the investigation was turned over to Detective NELSON.
