On 03/22/2026 at approximately 1421 hours I, Officer Lee Grant with the Cairo Police Department, was dispatched to 4 South Broad Street (First and Broad Pizza) in reference to an unknown problem involving EMS.

Upon my arrival, I was told by employees that the involved person was sitting on the north side of the building in a chair. I made contact with a man and immediately identified him as Bobby Pough due to have multiple prior encounters with him. Pough was complaining that he could not swallow. Shortly after I made contact with him, EMS arrived on scene. EMS checked Pough’s vitals and stated that he was medically cleared. Pough refused to go to the hospital and signed a refusal form for EMS.

In the past 3 days, from Friday 03/20/2026 until today, 03/22/2026, Pough has called 911 2 times, and has come to Cairo Police Department, where EMS was called for him, 1 time. Pough was also called on by Roddenbery Library personnel because he was harassing people around the library. Pough stated on numerous occasions that he was poisoned with rat poison and was medically cleared by EMS each time. He was admitted to Grady General Hospital after being transported by EMS on at least two other occasion, and left the hospital walking on foot before receiving any medical attention. During most of the occurrences, Pough stated that he was upset that his girlfriend left him.

On today’s incident, the situation was similar. Due to several false reporting of being poisoned along with other false accusations, and the undue burden that this puts on 911 services, Pough was charged with Misuse of 911.
