On June 16, 2026 at approximately 1210 hours Grady County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a reckless trailblazer traveling east on Hwy 84 in the area of Sunset Ln. At approximately 1212 hours Chief Deputy Kent Harvey observed a black in color Chevrolet trailblazer, displaying GA tag [REDACTED], traveling east on Hwy 84 in the area of Pierce Chapel Rd.

Chief Harvey observed the vehicle straddling both east bound lanes of Hwy 84 and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle near Pierce Chapel Rd. While Chief Harvey was behind the vehicle with his emergency equipment activated the vehicle drove recklessly through the busy parking lot of Johnson Meat Market before abruptly coming to a stop on Pierce Chapel Rd.

At approximately 1212 hours I, Lt Austin Asbell, arrived on scene to assist Chief Harvey. On scene I made contact with the driver of the vehicle Casey Brown. Upon making contact with Brown I immediately smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person and observed her eyes to be bloodshot and glassy. I questioned Brown on her alcohol consumption and she first denied drinking. I asked Brown again and she admitted to drinking one “shot”. I asked Brown to rate her level of intoxication on a scale of 0-10. Brown stated a 2. I requested that Brown submit to standardized field sobriety testing and she consented.

The first test I had Brown perform was Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN). During HGN I observed Brow to have 6/6 clues. During testing Brown also struggled to follow directions and had to repeatedly be reminded of instructions.

I then attempted to have Brown perform the walk and turn test. While giving my instructions for the test Brown stated she did not wish to continue with testing and testing was stopped.

I requested that Brown provide me with a sample of her breath on a portable breath test and she consented. Brown tested positive for alcohol (0.249).

Believing that Brown was less safe to operate a vehicle she was placed under arrest for DUI. Once being placed under arrest I read Brown Georgia implied consent notice for suspects age 21 and over and requested she submit to the state administered chemical test of her breath. Brown verbally consented.

Also in the vehicle at the time of the stop was Brown’s 9 year old son. Brown was unable to make arrangements for the juvenile to be picked up. I made contact with Brown’s father and the juvenile was transported to Cairo where he was turned over to his Grandfather.

Brown’s vehicle was impounded by the on call wrecker service, Adams and Sons Towing. Brown was transported to the Grady County Detention Center where I tested her on the Georgia Intoxilyzer 9000. Testing indicated a BRAC of 0.259 G/210L. Brown was issued citations, a DDS 1205, and turned over to jail staff.
