Brusters Ice Cream, located at 2688 Rockbridge Rd, Stone Mountain, GA 30087, received a score of 68 points out of a possible 100 points during their 06/10/2026 inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health.
The violations noted by the inspector were:
Violation #1:
4-1B: .04(8)(a)The owner and employee were advised to discard the hot dogs, which were measured at 53°F. The employee proceeded to prepare the hot dogs for an order. A food that is unsafe, adulterated, or not honestly presented shall be discarded or reconditioned according to an approved procedure. (P)
Corrective Actions: The employee discarded the foods.
Violation #2:
6-1A: .04(6)(f)Time/temperature control for safety (TCS) foods were observed holding above 41°F in the walk-in and reach-in coolers. The owner verified the temperatures at 12:00 PM. Time/temperature control for safety food shall be maintained at 41°F (5°C) or below. (P)
Corrective Actions: The foods were discarded.
Violation #3:
8-2B: .07(6)(e)Two bottles of Harris boric acid roach powder were stored in the restroom, and one can of Raid ant and roach spray was stored on the shelf below the register. Poisonous or toxic materials shall be used according to: (i) Law and this Chapter; (ii) Manufacturer’s use directions included in labeling, and, for a pesticide, manufacturer’s label instructions that state that use is allowed in a food service establishment, (P) (iii) The conditions of certification, if certification is required, for use of the pest control materials, (P) and (iv) Additional conditions that may be established by the Health Authority.
Violation #4:
8-2B: .07(6)(c)A can of glass cleaner was stored above chopped mixed nuts and adjacent to disposable paper towels. A bottle of cleaner was stored next to disposable gloves and on the preparation table. A bottle of glass cleaner was also observed stored on the preparation table. Poisonous or toxic materials shall be stored so they cannot contaminate food, equipment, utensils, linens, and single-service and single-use articles by: 1. Separating the poisonous or toxic materials by spacing or partitioning; (P) and 2. Locating the poisonous or toxic materials in an area that is not above food, equipment, utensils, linens, and single-service or single-use articles. (P)
Violation #5:
11D: .05(2)(k)The food thermometer was unable to provide accurate internal temperature readings for foods stored in the cooler. Food temperature measuring devices that are scaled only in Celsius or dually scaled in Celsius and Fahrenheit shall be accurate to ±1°C in the intended range of use. (Pf)
Violation #6:
12B: .03(5)(h)Employees were observed placing ice cream into containers and cooking corn dogs while wearing multiple bracelets on both arms and a wristwatch. Food employees may not wear jewelry including medical information jewelry on their arms and hands while preparing food (except for a plain ring such as a wedding band). (C)
Corrective Actions: All bracelets were removed except one, and the wristwatch was removed.
Violation #7:
13A: .02(1)(d)The current inspection score is 92; however, a score of 100 is posted in the front window for public viewing. The most current inspection report shall be prominently displayed in public view at all times, within fifteen feet of the front or primary public door and between five feet and seven feet from the floor and in an area where it can be read at a distance of one foot away. (C)
Violation #8:
14C: .05(10)(e)1&3Boxes of disposable items were observed stored on the floor in the employee restroom. Single-service and single-use articles shall be stored: 1) in a clean, dry location; 2)where they are not exposed to splash, dust or other contamination; and 3) at least 6 inches above the floor. Single-service and single-use articles shall be kept in the original protective package or stored by using other means that afford protection from contamination until used. (C)
Violation #9:
15A: .05(6)(q)1&3The ambient air temperatures of the walk-in cooler, reach-in cooler, and walk-in freezer were observed to be above 41°F. Utensils shall be maintained in a state of repair or condition that complies with the requirements specified under subsections .05(1) and .05(2) or shall be discarded. (C) Ambient air temperature, water pressure, and water temperature measuring devices shall be maintained in good repair and be accurate within the intended range of use.
Violation #10:
17B: .06(5)(k),(l)Bags of trash and cardboard boxes were observed stored on the ground outside the dumpster. Refuse, recyclables, and returnables shall be stored in receptacles or waste handling units so that they are inaccessible to insects and rodents. (C)

Cold foods are holding at 41°F or below unless otherwise noted. Hot foods are holding at 135°F or above unless otherwise noted.
