Nacion Taco, located at 1685 Old Norcross Rd, Suite 1000A in Lawrenceville, received a score of 56 points out of a possible 100 points during their 02/03/2026 inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health.
The violations noted by the inspector were:
Violation #1:
1-2A: .03(2)Upon entry to facility, no one was in charge. Manager stated that the employee in the kitchen was in charge; however, he was unaware that he was in charge. There must be a person in charge on the premises of the food service establishment at all times. (Pf)
Corrective Actions: PIC (person in charge) arrived on-site during inspection.
Violation #2:
2-1B: .03(5)(c)Observed kitchen employee handle raw chicken with gloved hands and then change gloves (without washing) and proceeded to handle tortilla shells. Employees must wash hands and exposed portions of arms immediately before engaging in food preparation including working with exposed food, clean equipment and utensils, and unwrapped single-service articles, and: 1) after touching exposed body parts; 2) after using the restroom; 3) after coughing, sneezing, using tobacco, eating, or drinking; 4) after handling soiled equipment or utensils; 5) during food preparation, as often as needed to remove soil and contamination and to prevent cross contamination when changing tasks; 6) before putting on gloves; 7) after engaging in other activities that contaminate hands; 8) a second time when entering the kitchen from using the restroom. (P)
Corrective Actions: Employee was directed to change gloves and wash hands. Tortillas were discarded.
Violation #3:
2-2B: .03(5)(j)1&2Observed an open mug with an iced liquid inside on top of the prep counter. Employees shall consume food and drink only in approved designated areas separate from food preparation and serving areas, equipment or utensil areas and food storage areas (unless drinking from a single service beverage cup with a secure lid and straw that is handled to prevent contamination of the employee’s hands, the container, exposed food, clean equipment, utensils and linens, unwrapped single-service and single-use articles). (C)
Corrective Actions: PIC had drink moved to location away from food and food prep.
Violation #4:
3-1C: .04(1)Observed peppers that had mold on them. Food shall be safe, unadulterated, and honestly presented. (P)
Corrective Actions: Peppers were discarded.
Violation #5:
5-2: .04(7)(e)Facility offers beef undercooked but menu board does not have consumer advisory and paper menu does not have a star by the advisory indicating that the starred items correlate to the advisory. If an animal food is served or sold raw, undercooked, or without otherwise being processed to eliminate pathogens, either in a ready-to-eat form or as an ingredient in another ready-to-eat food, the permit holder shall inform consumers of the significantly increased risk of consuming such foods by way of a disclosure and reminder using brochures, deli case or menu advisories, label statements, table tents, placards, or other effective means. The disclosure and reminder statements shall be worded in legible type in all capital letters and no smaller than size #8 font, or if displayed on a menu board shall be printed no smaller than the smallest letter in used for a menu item. Corrective Actions: Could not correct on-site. Please correct by 2/13/2026.
Violation #6:
6-1B: .04(6)(f)Observed fried chicken pieces, cooked peppers, cooked onions and chorizo that were holding below 135F. Time/temperature control for safety food shall be maintained at 135°F (57°C) or above. (P)
Corrective Actions: Items were discarded.
Violation #7:
8-2B: .07(6)(b)Three bottles of chemicals in working container that were not labeled with common name. Working containers used for storing poisonous or toxic materials such as cleaners and sanitizers taken from bulk supplies shall be clearly and individually identified with the common name of the material. (Pf)
Corrective Actions: PIC had items labeled.
Violation #8:
8-2B: .07(6)(c)Observed two butane lighters stored above and on prep surfaces. Poisonous or toxic materials shall be stored and displayed for retail sale so they cannot contaminate food, equipment, utensils, linens, and single-service and single-use articles. (P)
Corrective Actions: PIC moved lighters to store appropriately.
Violation #9:
15B: .05(3)(h),(i)Facility did not have test strips for quat sanitizer. A test kit or other device that accurately measures the concentration in mg/L (or ppm) of sanitizing solutions shall be provided. (Pf)
Corrective Actions: Could not correct on-site. Please correct by 2/13/2026.

NOTE: All cold and hot held temperatures were in compliance unless otherwise noted.
NOTE: Must have an allergen disclosure to inform customers of all allergens on site in facility.
NOTE: Informal will occur on 2/13/2026 to ensure menu and menu board has appropriate consumer advisory and quat test strips. If items are not corrected by specified date, permit may be suspended.
NOTE: A follow up will be conducted within 10 days. Correct any uncorrected violations or permit may be suspended. Two consecutive unsatisfactory scores will result in permit suspension.
NOTE: A required additional routine will be conducted within 12 months.
