GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. – At approximately 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, two adults and one child were shot at the Greenfield Apartments in Seneca, South Carolina. Roughly two hours later, authorities in Gwinnett County, Georgia, observed the suspect and attempted to conduct a traffic stop; however, the man refused to stop and led a chase.

Transportation footage revealed that the pursuit ended at about 8:00 PM near Highway 120 and Sugarloaf Parkway.

Not long after police discovered the three victims, including one 11-year-old young child, suffering from gunshot wounds outside an apartment in the upstate South Carolina town, they identified the suspect as 20-year-old Emmanuel Williams.

Seneca Police Chief Casey Bowling explained that they submitted Williams’ information and details regarding the crime into a nationwide database and soon received word of his location. Williams was detained at the Gwinnett County Jail and is scheduled to be extradited back to South Carolina.

Williams faces three counts of attempted murder in South Carolina and a myriad of charges in Georgia, including reckless driving, speeding, following too closely, driving with a revoked or suspended license, improper lane change, and driving on a divided highway. He was also charged with fleeing/attempting to elude a police officer, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, failing to obey a traffic control device, failing to wear a seat belt, and improper left turn.

Relatives of the victims reported that they sustained serious injuries but are expected to recover. They said the three patients, who were flown to local hospitals via three medical helicopters, are listed as stable.

Seneca is located approximately 120 miles north of Atlanta.
