[NARRATIVE #1 on June 17, 2026]

On 06/17/2026 at approximately 0318 hours, I, Ofc. Schoenholz, was dispatched and responded code 3 (emergency lights and sirens activated) to [REDACTED], Cornelia, in reference to a hemorrhage/physical domestic call. While en route, I requested dispatch provide the call history for the residence. Dispatch advised that there had been numerous domestic violence calls at this address, with five incidents reported since October 2025. I was also advised that three children were on scene.

Upon arrival, I observed two males walking toward the street and my patrol vehicle. One male, later identified as [WITNESS #1], was assisting another male, later identified as Damian Bowling. Bowling appeared to have a large amount of blood covering his face and smeared on his arms. I detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from both males.

I then approached the front door of [REDACTED] and knocked. While waiting for a response, I observed a 24 oz Twisted Tea alcoholic beverage sitting on a nearby table. I knocked a second time, announced my presence as police, and a female, later identified as Alyson Gober, answered the door.

I instructed Gober to exit the residence. As she stepped outside, she asked what was going on. I guided her away from the doorway by her arm and placed her in handcuffs behind her back, checking for proper fit and double locking them. Gober questioned why I was not asking her what had occurred and asked if “he” (Bowling) was also in handcuffs, stating that he had attacked her several times that night. She further stated that her daughters witnessed the incident.

Once Alyson was secured in handcuffs, I asked her what had occurred. Before she began explaining, I observed Alyson and Damian’s eldest daughter attempting to come outside. I instructed her, identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to remain inside and advised her that everything was okay.

I then led Alyson away from the doorway and again asked what had happened. As she spoke, I detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath. Alyson stated that she and Damian had been drinking and that the evening was “nice” until her daughter mentioned that Alyson had been talking to “some guy” earlier in the day. Alyson stated that she and Damian then went on her computer, and he questioned her about “restored messages.” She said she attempted to walk away multiple times and eventually went to bed.

Alyson stated that Damian entered the bedroom, placed a blanket over her head, and she began yelling for help. She said she has asthma and could not breathe, stating she felt as though she was hyperventilating. She advised that she was eventually able to get away from him and ran toward the door, looking for [WITNESS #1] ([WITNESS #1], Damian’s stepbrother). She stated that [WITNESS #1] was outside the back door, and when she opened it to reach him, Damian tackled her, causing her right collarbone to strike the door and knocking the breath out of her. I moved her shirt aside to check for any visible redness or injury but did not observe any.

Alyson stated that she then crawled on the floor to get out of the way of the door so [WITNESS #1] could enter the residence to assist her. When I asked about the source of the blood on Damian, Alyson stated it was from her defending herself while he repeatedly attacked her. She further stated that Damian placed his hands around her neck from behind, putting her in a headlock and squeezing to the point she could not breathe.

When I asked where [WITNESS #1] was during these incidents, Alyson stated he was outside and that each time he left, Damian would take the opportunity to attack her. Alyson also stated she did not have a phone to call for help and attempted to run to a neighbor’s house, but [WITNESS #1] stopped her and begged her not to go.

At this time, all three of Alyson and Damian’s daughters exited the residence. The two youngest, twins identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were not fully clothed, wearing only soiled diapers, and had food on their faces. I instructed all of the children to return inside the residence.

I then escorted Alyson to my patrol vehicle and placed her inside so I could speak with [WITNESS #1] regarding the incident. Alyson became increasingly upset as I walked her to the patrol vehicle.

I then approached [WITNESS #1], and I detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. He stated that all parties had been drinking. [WITNESS #1] advised that he did not believe either Alyson or Damian should be charged. I then instructed him to tell me what he heard and observed.

[WITNESS #1] stated that he was attempting to stay out of the situation and was normally listening to music with headphones on. He said he heard screaming and yelling, which prompted him to enter the residence at [REDACTED]. Upon entering, he observed Alyson and Damian on the floor, interlocked with one another. [WITNESS #1] stated that when he entered the residence, Damian “was clearly the one” and then pointed to blood that had gotten onto his arm from Damian.

When asked if either party was on top of the other, [WITNESS #1] stated that they were side by side. Не advised that Damian asked him for his phone, and although he did not want to get involved, he provided it to him.

When asked if he observed either party choking the other, [WITNESS #1] stated that he did not, and that when he entered, he only observed them tackling each other.

To clarify, I asked [WITNESS #1] if he had been outside when the incident began. He confirmed that he was outside and stated that he heard yelling when the screen door opened, which is what prompted him to go inside. [WITNESS #1] also stated that Damian told him law enforcement had responded earlier that morning for another altercation. After confirming with dispatch, there was no record of a prior call for service at that location earlier in the day.

I asked [WITNESS #1] if he would be willing to complete a voluntary witness statement form, and he agreed. He requested to step behind the residence while completing the form so that no one would see him writing it. In his written statement, [WITNESS #1] indicated that Alyson was tackling Damian, which he had not previously stated during his verbal account.

I then entered the residence and spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] regarding the incident. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that her parents were fighting and initially said that her father started it, then said her mother started it, and ultimately stated she was unsure. She advised that her father had been banging on the wall approximately an hour prior.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Alyson was sitting on the couch with her and attempted to grab her to put her to bed, at which point Damian “pounced” on Alyson, stating he was trying to protect [REDACTED BY AGENCY] When asked what Alyson was doing to her, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Alyson was trying to grab her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also stated that a similar incident had occurred during a prior law enforcement response, but that this incident today was “a lot” worse.

When asked how Damian sustained his injuries, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] raised her hands to her eyes and made a downward scratching motion, stating, “you know, my mom, with her long nails.” She then demonstrated scratching motions on her own face, including below her eyes, chin, and nose. When asked why Alyson would do that, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated it was because she was trying to protect herself. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] further stated that Damian had “pounced” on Alyson and was choking her. I noted that Alyson had been inside the residence with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] prior to my arrival and had the opportunity to speak with her, and perhaps “couch” her before law enforcement contact.

When asked if her mother made her feel unsafe, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated no, but advised that she felt unsafe with both Alyson and Damian. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she wanted to go to an orphanage with her sisters. She also stated that she attempted to go to a neighbor’s residence for help, but that her father stopped her.

I then made contact with Damian, who was inside the ambulance, and photographed his injuries. Damian stated that his only injuries were to his face and that the blood on his hands was from touching his face.

When asked what Alyson was doing with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Damian stated that Alyson was calling [REDACTED BY AGENCY] a liar. Damian advised that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told him Alyson had been speaking with another man on the computer earlier in the day, which led to the argument. He further stated that Alyson had been speaking negatively toward [REDACTED BY AGENCY] since that time.

When asked what occurred beginning at the couch, Damian stated that Alyson remained seated on the couch the entire time and that he was standing near the door. When asked if he had been banging on the door, Damian initially denied doing so, but later stated that when he moved from the front door to the back door, he tapped on it a couple of times out of anger. When asked where [WITNESS #1] was during the incident, Damian stated that [WITNESS #1] “was right there under my a*s the whole time.” When asked if [WITNESS #1] witnessed the entire incident, Damian stated that he believed he did, but that [WITNESS #1] might not want to get involved. Damian stated that [WITNESS #1] had his arms around him, holding his arms inward toward his body.

When asked if he placed his hands on Alyson at any point, Damian stated, “I don’t think so, unless I was trying to push her off of me.” When asked who initiated physical contact, Damian stated that he believed Alyson did. He stated that the incident began at the back door, where Alyson pushed him outside and told him to leave. Damian stated that he was willing to leave but needed to retrieve his work uniform for the following morning.

I then returned to my patrol vehicle and removed Alyson from handcuffs so that she could be evaluated by EMS.

I subsequently returned to speak with [WITNESS #1] and obtained his written statement form. After reviewing the incident with him again, [WITNESS #1] advised that he had to pull Alyson off of Damian during the incident and also had to pull Damian off of Alyson. When asked who initiated the physical altercation, [WITNESS #1] stated that Damian was the one escalating the situation. [WITNESS #1] further stated that he “grabbed his a*s” and pulled him back. When asked if Damian attempted to choke Alyson, [WITNESS #1] stated, “not that I know of.”

[WITNESS #1] advised that he was unsure where the blood originated from, stating that Damian was crying and may have been rubbing or grabbing his eyes. I made note that Damian may have been causing injury to his own facial area.

[WITNESS #1] also advised that Alyson had “stolen his phone hours ago,” which he found suspicious and believed she was “up to something.” He stated that Damian had been asking to use his phone to call 911, but [WITNESS #1] did not initially believe the situation was serious. He stated that after observing the amount of blood, he then provided his phone. Damian advised that he could watch the children, and both Alyson and Damian provided consent for him to do so. I later confirmed with DFCS that he was permitted to assume temporary care of the children.

I then returned to Alyson and inspected her fingernails. I observed no trace of blood or skin underneath her nails. Alyson had newly applied artificial nails that appeared likely to sustain damage consistent with scratching another individual’s eyes. I asked Alyson if she had scratched Damian, and she stated that when Damian placed her in a headlock, she reached around him and struck him in an attempt to get him off of her.

Alyson again stated that the incident occurred in front of her daughter and referenced a white fan, stating that Damian caused her to fall into it.

When asked whether the incident began on the couch, Alyson confirmed that it did. I asked if she had been disciplining her child, and she stated no, advising that she was telling [REDACTED BY AGENCY] it was approximately 0300 hours and time to go to bed. She further stated that she attempted to lie down several times and reiterated the statements previously provided at initial contact.

Alyson stated that she attempted to go to a neighbor’s residence for help, but was told not to do so by Damian and [WITNESS #1] and that if law enforcement became involved, Damian would go to prison for approximately six years. Alyson advised that she wished to be transported to the hospital due to severe head pain from multiple instances of Damian grabbing her head. I advised Alyson that both she and Damian were under arrest for Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree and Disorderly House.

Alyson was placed in handcuffs in the front due to her pending medical transport and was transported by EMS to Habersham Medical Center. I then made contact inside the ambulance with Damian to advise him that he was also under arrest. I informed Damian that I had been advised he had choked Alyson. Damian denied placing his hands around her throat and stated he only placed his hands on her arm. He further stated that he had not hit Alyson in years, “since they were kids.”

I then responded to [REDACTED] to follow up with the neighbor Alyson stated she had contacted for help. I spoke with the neighbor, later identified as [WITNESS #2], who initially denied speaking with Alyson that evening. She only said she heard a faint knock around approximately 2030 hours, which she believed was from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] She advised that Damian was yelling for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to return to their residence and stated she believed she should have contacted law enforcement at that time. She further stated that Damian “beats on Alyson all the time.” [WITNESS #2] later advised another responding officer that Alyson had, in fact, come to her residence earlier in the night.

I also spoke with another neighbor, identified as [WITNESS #3], who advised she frequently observes the children outside the residence without parental supervision and believes Alyson is not mentally stable.

Habersham EMS transported Alyson and Damian in separate ambulances to Habersham Medical Center. After treatment, both were transported to jail.
