On June 1, 2026 at approximately 0041 hours I Deputy Holcomb was on Old Cleveland Highway near the intersection of Old Athens Highway attempting to locate a Ford Ranger with white fenders in reference to a verbal domestic call in the area. The Habersham County E911 Center advised that a reporting party advised them a female had left a verbal domestic and was intoxicated.
The reporting party reported a red Ford Ranger with white fenders. While in this area, I observed this vehicle past my location, headed towards the complainants address of [100 BLOCK] ladybug Lane. While watching the vehicle passed my location I observed it failed to maintain its lane by traveling with the center dashes of the roadway directly underneath the center of the vehicle. I made a U-turn and activated my emergency blue lights and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
The female driver failed to yield to my blue lights and sirens. We continued west on Old Cleveland Road at an approximately speed of 35 mph. The vehicle continue to drive recklessly by traveling off the right side of the roadway with both right side tires. Near the intersection of Old Cleveland Road and Ladybug Lane. The vehicle slowed to an almost stop. The vehicle then made a left turn in the driveway just passed Lazy Hill Dr and drove through the yard and back onto Lazy Hill Drive. The vehicle traveled down Lazy Hill drive, I observed the female driver, holding a cell phone in her hand as she traveled down this road, and then through a grass yard back into the address of [100 BLOCK] Ladybug Lane.
The truck stopped perpendicular to the driveway after it became lodged and what appeared to be a large pothole. I exited my patrol vehicle and made verbal contact with the female as she sat in the driver seat. She still had the phone in her hand and had the door locked. I gave loud verbal commands to open the door. After several orders she did unlock the door. I opened the door and gave loud verbal commands for the female to exit.
She began to yell and scream I didn’t do anything at which time I assisted her out of the vehicle onto the ground. She was handcuffed behind her back. I moved her to the rear of my patrol vehicle where her cuffs were checked for fit and double locked. She was searched incident to arrest, revealing no contraband. She was seatbelted into the rear seat of my patrol vehicle. The female was identified as Angilesia Clark. I observed her having bloodshot and watery eyes. As she screamed and yelled at me, the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitted from her breath and person.
She began telling me things that she was escaping an abusive situation. She stated her boyfriend had escalated an argument to physical contact and she had gotten in the truck to leave. In regards to not stopping for law-enforcement, she stated her phone fell underneath her brake pedal and she was unable to stop. I reminded her that she had had her phone in her hand. She began stating no, she did not. I advised Clark she would be charged with fleeing and attempting to allude and driving under the influence. I read her, her implied consent notice for suspect age 21 or over where the state requested a sample of her blood.
Clark began to yell and scream again about the events of the evening and refused to answer my question. I read Clark her Miranda warning. Clark refused to speak with me, but stated she would speak with the female officer. Officer Lauren with the Cornelia Police department, spoke with Clark as she sat in the rear of my patrol vehicle. This was captured on my body worn camera. A probable call search of the vehicle was conducted. I located a clear baggie containing a green leafy like substance suspected to be marijuana, a marijuana grinder, and a glass pipe used to consume marijuana.
While I handled all the traffic related situations that were going on this evening. Other deputies to include Deputy Jenkins investigated the domestic related incident. See his supplemental for further.
The vehicle was left at the residence due to it belonging to Clark’s 18 year-old son. I transported Clark to the Habersham County Sheriffs Office, where she was turned over to detention staff without incident. The rear seat of my patrol vehicle was checked prior to, and after transporting, revealing no contraband. Clark was issued citations for the following.
- DUI refusal
- Failure to maintain lane
- Reckless driving
- Obstruction
- Distracted driving
- Seatbelt violation
- Possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana
