[NARRATIVE #1 on April 09, 2023]
On Sunday, April 9, 2023 at approximately 03:50 SERGEANT BRIAN COLLINS was contacted, by radio, by OFFICER BRANDON HOLCOMB (Cornelia Police Department) in reference to a reckless driver (failing to maintain its lane) GA 15 NB at Chevy Lane, which led to the arrest of the driver.
COLLINS permitted HOLCOMB to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle; final stop GA 15 at Antioch Church Road. COLLINS met HOLCOMB at the point of the stop. HOLCOMB advised COLLINS the truck was driving over the white dotted line in the center of the North bound lanes, then would swerve abruptly and cross the solid whit line (fog line).
HOLCOMB informed COLLINS the driver (BRANDON HOLLIDAY / driver’s license number [REDACTED BY AGENCY]) was driving a white Dodge Ram 3500 (tag number [REDACTED]). HOLCOMB completed standardized field sobriety test on HOLLIDAY and determined him to be under the influence. See HOLCOMB’S statement (attached).
Based on the results of the field sobriety tests COLLINS read implied consent to HOLLIDAY. HOLLIDAY agreed for blood draw. COLLINS radioed dispatch to have the next list towing service to be en route to impound the truck. COLLINS completed a vehicle inventory on the truck. COLLINS asked DEPUTY R. LIMONES to transport HOLLIDAY to the Habersham Medical Center for the blood draw, then to the Habersham County Detention Center (see LIMONES’ report).
COLLINS cited and arrested HOLLIDAY for failure to maintain lane (citation number T8100106) driving under the influence (citation number T8100107) and seat belt violation (citation number T10800108).
