On 08/29/2023 at the approximate time of 06:39 I Deputy Vaughn was dispatched and responded code 1 non emergency to a report of a stolen vehicle at [200 BLOCK] Primrose Lane. The stolen vehicle was described as a white 2003 Toyota Tacoma bearing tag GA [REDACTED] with a lift kit on it. The caller advised dispatch that he last saw his vehicle around 9:00 PM last night and he left the keys inside the vehicle.
While en route to this call there was a report of a submerged vehicle on the boat ramp of Lake Russell. The caller advised it was a white small pick up truck. Once units were on scene the vehicle was identified as the stolen vehicle a 2003 Toyota Tacoma bearing tag [REDACTED]. At this time I contacted on call investigations Inv. Kushman and notified him of the incident.
Upon arrival at Primrose Lane, I spoke with complainant Brett Breedlove. Brett stated that last night around 9:00 PM he came home and parked his truck in his driveway at [200 BLOCK] Primrose Lane. Brett then went inside and took care of his child and spent time with his wife. Brett stated that his wife had been having gall bladder issues and she woke him up around the time he called because she was sick and in pain. Brett went outside for a cigarette and noticed his truck was missing and contacted 911. I asked Brett if there were any valuable items inside the vehicle to which Brett stated no. Brett stated that he had only had the truck for around a month and paid $7000 USD for the vehicle. Brett has full coverage insurance on the vehicle provided by State Farm policy number [REDACTED]. I advised Brett that I would complete an inital report and turn this matter over to investigations. Brett was provided a case number.
Inv. Kushman responded to the Lake Russell Scene and this investigation was turned over to investigations. Hulsey Wrecker Service was contacted via list for the vehicle.
