On June 3, 2026, I, Deputy Jenkins, responded code 1 to a dispute not in progress at [300 BLOCK] Ivy Hill Circle.
Upon my arrival, I met with the complainant [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that the incident had occurred at his residence at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Demorest, Georgia. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that in order to help out a friend, he had allowed an individual identified as Clay Salos to move in with him as a roommate approximately а week and a half ago.
During this time, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that he helped out Clay multiple times, even going so far as to rent a vehicle so Clay could go participate in a rodeo in Colorado. When Clay had returned home, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that he and his girlfriend had been thinking about moving in together, so they had decided they needed to let the lease go on the house, so each of his roommates would need to move out and find other places of residence.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that when he spoke with Clay about this, Clay became visibly upset. Clay then pulled a gun on him and put the gun in [REDACTED BY AGENCY] face, threatening to shoot him. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then stated that he told Clay I don’t think he’ll do it to which clay then said, I’ll just kill myself in your son’s room and you can clean that up off the wall. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated at this point he walked away from Clay and walked outside, but Clay followed him outside and threatened to kill him again.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that he felt threatened and unsafe during the situation. When asked if he could describe the weapon that was pointed at him, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] described a matte greenish colored pistol with a laser or light on the bottom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was asked if he would fill out a witness statement on the incident, to which he stated that he would. A short while later, a warrant was taken and signed for Aggravated Assault (FVA) due to both parties living together.
Shortly after midnight, myself and other deputies on shift responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], in order to serve the Aggravated Assault warrant. Upon our arrival, I approached and knocked on the front door of the residence. A few moments later a male subject that I was able to identify as Clay Salos, came to and opened the front door. Clay was asked to exit the residence and place his hands behind his back, to which he reluctantly complied. Clay was placed in handcuffs, checked for fit and double locked.
Clay was informed that he was under arrest for Aggravated Assault (FVA), and was searched incident to the arrest. Clay stated that he had a prior knee injury and would have trouble walking, so my patrol vehicle was moved closer to the stairs to make it easier. After Clay was placed into the rear seat of my patrol vehicle, I returned to the front porch where Clay’s girlfriend, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], was speaking with Deputy Holcomb.
Deputy Holcomb had explained the situation and what was going on to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] When [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was asked what had happened earlier in the evening, she stated that Clay’s roommate had needed to speak with him about Clay moving out. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that they got into an argument about Clay grinding somewhere else to live, and Clay stated that he was tired from driving all day, and that they could talk about it tomorrow. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she did not see a gun involved in the altercation, but also stated that she had gone into another room before the argument was over.
I then asked for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] drivers license due to her being a witness. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that her license was inside and asked it she could retrieve it. I told [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that she could, and asked if we could follow her into the house, to which she responded that we could. Myself and Deputy Holcomb followed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to the first bedroom on the right which belonged to Clay. While standing in the doorway to the room I observed, in plain view on the floor just to the right of the doorway, a matte brownish Glock 19x with a flashlight attachment, in a green holster. The Glock 19x bearing serial number BWHB302 was said to belong to Clay Salos, and was taken into custody as evidence.
I then returned to my patrol vehicle where Clay read his Miranda warning to which he replied that he would speak with me on the way to the jail. While en route to the jail, Clay stated that he and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had been involved in an argument about Clay moving out, but the gun was not involved. Clay stated that he had not even brought the gun inside. Clay immediately followed that statement saying that he had actually brought the gun inside just before going to bed.
After arriving at the Jail, Clay was turned over to Jail staff without incident, and the Glock 19x was logged and placed into the temporary evidence locker.
