On June 8th, 2025 I responded to an assault call located at [100 BLOCK] Laredo Drive, Baldwin Ga.

When I arrived I observed a male matching the description given by dispatch beating on the door of [100 BLOCK] Lerado Drive Unit [REDACTED], as well as yelling through the door. I made contact with the male who was identified as Devon Davenport. Upon speaking with Devon I observed a strong odor of Alcohol coming from his breath, and observed him having an agitated manor. While speaking with him he stated he was trying to help a little girl who he believed was being mistreated by his mother who lived in Apartment [REDACTED], and he was beating on the door to try and help the child. Due to his passive aggressive nature, and for officer safety I requested the assistance of the Cornelia Police Department. Upon their arrival I then made contact with the complainant. He was identified as [VICTIM #1].

[VICTIM #1] stated shortly before I arrived on scene he could hear a male and female arguing in the apartment upstairs. [VICTIM #1] stated the female who was identified as [VICTIM #2] came downstairs to his apartment and asked to used the phone. [VICTIM #1] allowed her to use the phone, and as she was leaving, his children mother who was identified as [VICTIM #3] came out of the bedroom and walked outside to see if [VICTIM #2] was ok. [VICTIM #1] stated that while the two women were outside talking, Devon came down and began “running his mouth” to [VICTIM #3]. [VICTIM #1] stated [VICTIM #3] sent him a text message to come outside due to Devon getting in her face. [VICTIM #1] stated he came outside and observed them arguing, and got in between them and told [VICTIM #3] to go inside.

[VICTIM #1] stated as she was going inside Devon reached around him and slapped [VICTIM #3] on the face. [VICTIM #1] stated he did not want to cause any problems due to their DFCS case closing on Tuesday, so he stated “I don’t have time for this” and went inside, locked the door and called the police. While speaking with [VICTIM #1], I made contact with [VICTIM #3] and observed redness to the left side of her face that based on my knowledge and experience was consistent want being slapped. [VICTIM #3] denied any medical treatment, and stated she did not want to press charges.

I then made contact with [VICTIM #2] who lived in apartment [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #2] stated she had picked up Devon from Blairsville earlier this date due to him needing a place to stay. [VICTIM #2] stated Devon began drinking and the two of them got into an argument. [VICTIM #2] stated Devon got angry and broke one of her dining room chairs, and punched a hole in a bedroom door. [VICTIM #2] stated she then went down to the neighbors to use the phone and shorty there after Devon followed and started arguing again. While speaking with [VICTIM #2] she stated she did not want to press charges for the damage to her property, she just wanted Devon to leave.

Based on the information I received from all parties involved, the visible physical injury incurred by [VICTIM #3], and damaged property. I found probable cause for an arrest. Devon was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. He was handcuffed, searched incident to arrest and driven to the Habersham County Jail. Due to his aggressive nature, and him being intoxicated, I informed the deputies to assist me with Devon upon my arrival. Once I had arrived at the jail, and the sally port was secure, Devon was instructed to exit the rear of my patrol car. Devon actively resisted the deputies commands to exit, and was forcefully removed from the rear of my patrol car. He was then secured at the hand and feet without incident. I then obtained a warrant for Disorderly conduct by the on call Judge.
