On 08/31/2025 I, Deputy Askey with the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a fight call at [300 BLOCK] Canterberry Trail. Dispatch advised of multiple subjects fighting at the location, as well as multiple subjects being stabbed. Due to the comments of a fight and multiple subjects being stabbed I responded to the location CODE 3 (Lights and Sirens). Prior to arrival I asked dispatch how many subjects had been stabbed, description of the suspect, and if he was still on scene. Dispatch advised the suspect had barricade himself in a RV on location. I asked for multiple units to responded due to violent nature of the call and having multiple victims.
Upon approaching the address I advised dispatch to hold all radio traffic (emergency traffic only). Upon arrival a white male was standing near the drive way of [300 BLOCK] and [300 BLOCK] Canterberry Trail waving his arms. The male was later identified as [WITNESS #1] ([400 BLOCK] Canterberry Trail), [WITNESS #1] pointed to the victims that were located in the grass near the RV. Two females were located to my left and one male located to my right. All three had been stabbed by the male subject who barricades himself in the camper. Two of the victims were females, identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Both of them were sitting up however, both were bleeding. A silver knife was laying close to them on the ground. The male victim was identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] I was informed by parties on location the suspect was in the camper or had possibly ran into the wooded area.
Due to the suspect possibly being in the camper and multiple victims on location I directed [WITNESS #1] to retrieve a medical kit from my patrol vehicle in order to start rendering aid as I kept visual on the camper (officer safety/citizen safety/keep from another attack occurring). Officer Gibson from Clarkesville arrived on scene in a timely manner and also assisted with rendering aid to the victims.
Due to the high stress, tense, rapidly evolving situation I asked for more units to respond in a quick manner in order to surround the camper. Lt. Jarrell responded on scene and assisted with providing cover on the camper. I began to move around the camper to confirm if the suspect was actually inside (possible ran into the woods). The windows to the camper were dark however, there was movement from inside of the camper and I relayed that to Deputies on scene. Responding Officers were directed to surround the camper in order to contain the suspect. Due to holding cover of the camper the victims were able to be extracted from the scene and moved to safety with Fire and EMS.
The suspect was identified as Ethan Brooks [REDACTED BY AGENCY], due to the comments of him being in the camper and seeing movement from inside the camper, it led me to believe the was in fact barricaded inside. I took a position of concealment around some water tanks as Lt. Jarrell and Lt. Cason were to my left. Deputy Crawford kept visual of the camper from the front over to the passenger side. I asked Lt. Cason if he had less lethal, in which he did. Lt. Jarrell and Lt. Cason retrieved OC (pepper ball) procectile launcher from their patrol vehicles. OC Projectiles were fired towards the AC unit located by the rear door. It appeared there was no effect to the pepper deployment around the window AC unit. I used Lt. Casons baton and struck the windshield of the camper, once a hole was made into the window shield both Lt Cason and Lt. Jarrell deployed multiple OC Projectiles into the drivers compartment of the camper.
After deployments of OC Projectiles, Deputy Crawford advised the Brooks had moved to the sleeper top (loft area) which is located above the front drivers front seat/passengers seat. Due to Brooks moving to sleeper area of the camper it was an apparent attempt to avoid the OC projectiles, the decision was made to make a hole on the top window. I retrieved a landscaping paving stone and threw it against the top window to the camper. The stone shattered the top glass in which more pepper balls were deployed into the camper.
At that time it was appearant the OC Projectiles were affective in which I heard Brooks making sounds from inside the camper. More commands were given for him to exit the camper, in which he did not. A short time later, Brooks opened the door to the camper making the situation more tense due to not being able to see inside. The camper door opened towards me and other deputies, there was also a tree branch in close proximity of the door.
Inv. Thomas, Deputy Dorsey, Officer Gibson, and myself approached the camper door and commands were given. Upon approaching the doorway of the camper, Brooks was laying on his stomach with his arms extended. I grabbed his arm and removed him from the camper into the ground. Multiple Officers were exposed to the pepper which made it hard to breath and see while placing him into handcuffs. Brooks would not place his hands behind his back after commands were given. Brooks was able to be secured into handcuffs and escorted away from the front door of the camper. Deputy Dorsey provided Brooks with water by pouring it on his face in order to wash away the effects of the pepper.
Upon going back to the crime scene area there was blood visible in the yard along with a knife. I placed business cards to mark the blood and the knife, crime scene tape was also put up in order to secure the crime scene. Due to the complex situation multiple subjects were talked too by law enforcement. Deputy Hollingsworth mantained the crime scene log as well. Below are the subjects listed information and etc:
1) Ethan Brooks [REDACTED BY AGENCY] arrested
2) [REDACTED BY AGENCY]
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] three times, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]

6) [REDACTED BY AGENCY]
7) [REDACTED BY AGENCY]
8) [REDACTED BY AGENCY] witness

Statement forms were obtained while on scene and turned over to CID at a later time. The incident was turned over to Inv. Mendenhall in which he charged Brooks with three counts of aggravated assault.
