[NARRATIVE #1 on June 06, 2026]
On the previous listed date and time I responded to Habersham Medical Center reference and assault.
Upon my arrival I met with the complainant, [WITNESS #1], and the victim, [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated him and his father, [VICTIM #1], was at a party at [900 BLOCK] Riverbend Rd, Demorest, Ga, 30563. [WITNESS #1] stated it was a mexican party where the custom was to throw flour at people while they are singing and dancing.
[WITNESS #1] stated while the circle of people singing and dancing was going around his mother threw flour in another female’s face. The female did not understand the custom and the mother explained. After circling a few more times, and tossing flour around she threw flour into a male’s face and it got into his mouth and he became angry.
After a brief discussion, [WITNESS #1]’s mother left and went back to the party. [WITNESS #1]’s mother realized she lost her glasses near the male, but asked her husband, [VICTIM #1], to go and attempt to locate them. [VICTIM #1] went over the area and was looking around for them. After about two passes Offender 1, Francisco Sanchez, asked [VICTIM #1] what he was going, [VICTIM #1] stated he was looking for glasses, and Francisco grabbed [VICTIM #1] by the shirt and stated “I think your’re looking for this”. When Francisco finished the statement he pulled his arm back and swung it forward with a closed fist and struck [VICTIM #1] in the head. [VICTIM #1] stated he passed out and sis not remember anything else.
[WITNESS #1] stated during the physical altercation, at first he did not realize who it was, but then realized, it was [VICTIM #1] laying on the ground unconscious while Francisco Sanchez, Israel Sanchez, and Yovani Sanchez was punching [VICTIM #1] and kicking him while he was on the ground. [WITNESS #1] ran over and grabbed [VICTIM #1] and the three offenders ran off. [WITNESS #1] stated he knew the Sanchez brothers, but only by their names’s he did not ever talk to them before. [WITNESS #1] stated Francisco was a Georgia State Trooper prior but was fired because of his anger.
[WITNESS #1] showed me a video someone else had taken of the incident. I observed on the video the three men on top of [VICTIM #1] punching and kicking. I observed who [WITNESS #1] Identified as Israel putting a knee on [VICTIM #1]’s chest and striking him in the head with his elbow. [VICTIM #1] stated he did want to press charges.
I observed [VICTIM #1]’s head which had multiple lacerations, and his chest and back which had multiple bruises. [WITNESS #1] stated multiple times he thought [VICTIM #1] was dead and they killed him because he was just laying on the ground motionless. Even after Francisco knocked [VICTIM #1] out and he was defenseless, they continued to hit him, and [WITNESS #1] did not think they would have stopped if they had not been pulled off by bystanders.
I asked [WITNESS #1] why did he not call 911, and he stated he did, but people started grabbing his phone and ending the call. Deputy Helcher #132, advised me he responded to [900 BLOCK] Riverbend Rd for a 911 open line, where dispatch heard yelling, but when he got there he met the home owner, who stated there was a fight, but everyone had already left.
Myself and multiple other Deputies and Officers went to the Riverbend address to try to make contact with the offenders, and the homeowner who lied to Deputy Helcher. Everyone at the party stated the offenders had already left the scene. While talking to multiple people on scene, I was advised the offenders lived on Canterberry Trl, Mt Airy, Ga but they did not know the actual address. I left the scene to attempt to locate the offender’s vehicles at the Canterberry Trl neighborhood, but during my drive, I was advised by Deputy Helcher that he located a ex-trooper with the name, Brian Sanchez.
I drove to the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and printed off the booking photo of the picture Deputy Helcher sent along with other booking photos of similar looking hispanic males (5 pictures). I took the photo’s and numbered them photo #1-#6 with the picture I was sent of ex-Trooper Sanchez being photo #4.
I took the photos to the Hospital and gave them to Demorest Police Officer Brogdon #405, to do a photo line up with [WITNESS #1], so it would be a neutral photo line up. [WITNESS #1] told Officer Brogdon he did not recognize anyone in the photos, but stated he could get the Sanchez brother’s Facebook account. [WITNESS #1] showed me each of their Facebook profiles, and all three had their date of births, with two of them living at [100 BLOCK] Canterberry Trl.
Due to the time lapse I did not attempt to make contact with the offenders at the current time, instead I will apply for Aggravated Battery warrants when the Magistrate Judge is on duty, and serve the arrest warrants with them in hand. I placed the photos used for the line up in the records box at Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.

[NARRATIVE #2 on June 07, 2026]
On 06-07-2026 at about 2200 hours, myself and Lt. Hicks #110, Deputy McClain #129, Deputy Helcher #132, Deputy Crawford #147 Demorest Officer Brodgon #405, and Officers from Clarkesville PD went to [100 BLOCK] Canterberry Trl to serve an arrest warrant on Francisco and Israel Sanchez.
Upon our arrival multiple patrol cars activated the cruise lights (solid blue lights) on the patrol vehicle to Identify us as law enforcement. I knocked on the front door and through the living room window I observed an older male and female. I gave multiple announcements of who I was and to open the door, but the older male and female stood behind the door. After a few more verbal commands I turned the door knob and found the door to be unlocked. I gave them commands to exit the house and asked where her sons were.
After Deputy McClain and Officer Brogdon came on the porch. We entered the house to execute the arrest warrants. After getting the older male and female out of the house the search for Francisco and Israel began. As I turned right into the living room, Israel came from around a corner which lead upstairs and started yelling “Warrant”.
I advised he had one and to place his hands behind his back. Israel straightened his shoulders up and took a fighting stance as he was walking backwards towards the stairs. I rushed towards Israel and grabbed his arm, and Officer Brogdon grabbed his other as we fell to the couch landing on top of Israel. Israel kept his arms tense in attempt to resist arrest but was over powered and placed into handcuffs.
Israel was escorted out of the house and placed in the rear of Deputy Crawford’s patrol vehicle as myself and others continued clearing the residence. After I walked out of the house I started talking with the offender’s niece and explained the arrest warrant. I looked in the yard where other deputies were located and observed Francisco and Yovani standing there already in handcuffs. Both were placed in the rear seat of the Deputy McClain’s patrol vehicle and I left copies of the arrest warrants with the mother.
Deputy Crawford and McClain transported the offenders to the county jail and released them to the jail staff. Due to Israel resisting arrest I have applied and received an obstruction warrant for Israel from the magistrate judge.
