On July 19, 2026 at approximately 1926 hours, DEPUTY JUSTIN MCCLAIN was dispatched and responded code 1 to [200 BLOCK] Demorest Court Apartments [REDACTED] Demorest, GA in reference to possible child abuse.
Upon arrival, MCCLAIN made contact with [WITNESS #1] (mother), who stated her son, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], was at a friend’s house on Saturday July 17. [WITNESS #1] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was there from around 1500 to 1800 hours while she was moving furniture. [WITNESS #1] stated the friend, JACOB SORRELLS, is a long time family friend. [WITNESS #1] stated she doesn’t know the exact address but is on Primrose Lane directly behind Dairy Queen (possibly 300 or 310 Primrose).
MCCLAIN requested permission to speak with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] about the incident, which [WITNESS #1] stated it was ok.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated while he was at JACOB’s house he took [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to the store to buy beer. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated after they came back JACOB started play punching him in the arm, however JACOB started getting rougher and finally ended up pushing him to the ground where he held him down with one hand on his left leg.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated his leg started hurting from JACOB holding him down. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated JACOB was trying to get the dog to bite his arm while on the ground. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated one of JACOB’s friend’s was there at this point and was helping JACOB with trying to get the dog to bite him. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the dog never actually bit him but scratched him a little.
[WITNESS #1] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] tried to call her several times but she was busy moving furniture and didn’t have her phone with her.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] showed MCCLAIN his leg and arm which were bruised from the incident. Pictures of the bruises were taken and have been attached to this report.
[WITNESS #1] was advised of how to obtain a TPO.
[WITNESS #1] was given a business card containing the case number, information on how to contact the Sheriff’s Office and how to obtain a copy of the report,
Investigator BRITTANY MOULDER was contacted and informed of the incident.
