On 10/26/2025 at approximately 1515 hours, I, Deputy Hollingsworth, was dispatched and responded code three to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], GA in reference to a physical domestic in progress. Sgt. C Carter responded as well and requested Baldwin Police Department and Cornelia Police Department respond as well in order to secure the scene and safety of the persons on scene. Once Baldwin P.D. and Cornelia P.D. arrived on scene and secured it, myself and Carter continued code one.

Upon arrival, I made contact with D/S. Brantley, who had arrived on scene prior to myself. [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. He summarized the incident, as he’d spoken to all parties and pointed out the main victim, [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

I made contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and asked him what had happened. He basically said he got into a verbal argument with his dad, Matthew Savage (offender), and when Matthew got up close and into his face, he told him to get away and then he gently pushed Matthew back. (I had [REDACTED BY AGENCY] demonstrate on me, and it was approximately 3-5 lbs of pressure).

He said Matthew then grabbed him in a rear choke hold from behind and after several seconds, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was unable to breath and started striking Matthew on each side with both right and left closed fists. He said he was unable to get Matthew to let go but his ([REDACTED BY AGENCY]) was able to get Matthew off.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] then said Matthew saw [REDACTED BY AGENCY] on the phone and when moved into the area she was at, he grabbed her, he [REDACTED BY AGENCY] bear hugged Matthew to keep [REDACTED BY AGENCY] from being hurt. He said Matthew then was yelling and left the residence. I was able to observe redness around [REDACTED BY AGENCY] neck a well as a small purplish bruise on the underside of his chin just to the right of center.

I then spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She said [REDACTED BY AGENCY], Matthew and herself were in the bedroom and Matthew and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were arguing. She said when she saw Matthew put [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in a rear choke hold, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] turned red and was unable to breathe, she began striking Matthew to get him to let go of [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

She said he finally did and thew [REDACTED BY AGENCY] on the bed. She then saw her daughter, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and told her to call 911. She said Matt then came out of the bedroom, saw [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was on the phone and knocked the phone out of her hand before grabbing the car keys and storming out of the house and leaving in the vehicle.

I made contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] next. She said that she heard yelling coming from the room next to hers then the door slam and moved to a spot where she could her better. She heard [REDACTED BY AGENCY] yelling and after banging on the door, she was able to get it open. She said she then saw Matthew put [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in a rear choke hold before he released him, threw him on the bed and went to exit the room.

She said when he saw her on the phone, he barged up to her grabbed her by the left arm (visible red marks and bruising) knocked the phone out of her hand then was cussing at her before he left the residence in a vehicle. She said she stayed outside in order to let her family know if Matthew showed back up. When he did, she went back into the house and locked the door.

They did advise me there was another juvenile in the house, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who was locked in her room and did not witness anything but was able to hear the incident in its entirety. I did speak to her briefly and she was terrified. She was crying and emotionally distraught but confirmed she heard but did not see anything that had occurred.

I provided [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with a business card, case number, victims assitance package and advised her of the TPO process.

All above parties are either related by blood or marriage and have been living in the same residence.

Warrants for the following charges will be taken for the following charges – Aggravated Assault (FVA), Battery (FVA), Interference with 911 call.
