On January 28th, 2026, at approximately 17:18 hours, I, Officer Nesbitt, was dispatched to a domestic incident in the Walmart parking lot. I ran code 3.
Prior to my arrival, dispatch advised that a child was being assaulted in the parking lot by a male subject. Upon arrival, I made contact with Nicole Annette Young, who was identified as the juvenile’s mother. It was later determined that the alleged suspect was not a male, but the juvenile’s mother. Nicole advised that her daughter became upset inside Walmart because she was not allowed to get a toy. Nicole stated that she then dragged the child out of the store by her arms.
Walmart Asset Protection reviewed surveillance footage, which showed Nicole dragging the juvenile out of the store by her arms.
A witness stated that while Nicole was dragging the child, the child fell to the ground, and Nicole began striking the child around the body and head area. The witness further stated that Nicole placed the child into a vehicle and continued striking her.
When DFACS arrived on scene, they checked the juvenile for injuries and questioned her. The juvenile, an [REDACTED BY AGENCY], advised that her mother pulled her hair and struck her in the forehead while in the Walmart parking lot on this date. The juvenile also advised that approximately one week prior, her mother slammed her onto her back, and her father struck her with a stick. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] did not have any bruises on her.
Parking lot cameras was blocked by the sun, so there was no footage in the parking lot. Dfacs let the juveniles uncle [REDACTED] transport the child to her grandmothers house where they all live.
Nicole was arrested and charged with simple battery FVA and cruelty to children 1st degree. She was transported to the Habersham jail to be processed. Nicole Young was arrested with her hand behind her back. The cuffs were doubled locked and check for fit. [Nicole] was asked if she had anything on her, she replied no. She was also seat belted in.
:Witness statement
The witness, [WITNESS #1], said, I was sitting near Chick-fil-A in Walmart’s parking lot when I saw a woman pulling a child away from Walmart, dragging the child at times. When she got the child to the car, she started beating on the child while the child was on the ground. Then she slung the child into the car and continued to hit the child. She then got in the car and got on the phone.
