On 2/25/2026 at 1513 hours, I Deputy Sless was dispatched and responded code one to 2282 State Highway 17 (Hayes Corner gas station) in reference to an assault. While in route Deputy Maney arrived on scene and began talking with Sabrina Grant.
Upon my arrival I spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who stated Sabrina comes into the store many times through the week and most of the time her debit card does not work. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said this time she attempted to purchase some items but her card declined and began asking other customers for money or to buy the items for her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised Sabrina went to the back of the store and began trying her debit card in the slot machines. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he explained to her the machines only took cash. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said Sabrina then grabbed her stuff and exited the store.
I spoke with Sabrina and explained to her the store had plenty of security cameras and we watched the incident. I asked Sabrina if what she wrote on the witness statement true and if it was not she could be arrested. I reminded Sabrina to tell the truth. Sabrina advised she was assaulted by [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I advised Sabrina she was being placed under arrest for false statement to law enforcement. I placed Sabrina in handcuffs checking for fit and double locking them. I searched Sabrina incident to arrest. I placed Sabrina in the back of my patrol vehicle securing her with seatbelts. I transported Sabrina to Habersham County Jail. Sabrina was turned over to jail staff without incident. I spoke with Magistrate Judge Hise and obtained a warrant for Sabrina.
