On Sunday, September 21, 2025 at approximately 1157hrs I Deputy Jonathan Maney responded to a Verbal Domestic at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] GA 30535. Dispatch advised the caller stated that her husband had been drinking and throwing stuff. The caller stated that she was in her sons room and her husband was trying to kick the door down. I responded in a code three (emergency equipment activated) status. While en route dispatch advised the husband has guns in the house and ptsd from the military.
As I approached the residence I observed a black female running down the hill towards my patrol vehicle. As I was coming to a stop and exiting my patrol vehicle I could hear gun shots in the background. I immediately un holstered my issued Glock service weapon and advanced towards were the shots was coming from. I then observed a black male emerge from behind a vehicle in the direction from were the shots took place. I gave loud verbal commands to the male later identified as Stephen Roberson to put his hands up and get on the ground. Stephen complied with my commands, I did not observe any weapons in Stephen’s hands. I advanced forward with Sargent Daniel Seeley to my left. As I held coverage Sgt Seely placed Stephen in handcuffs.
I then asked the female identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who shot to which she replied Stephen from the front yard. In the front yard I observed two handguns laying in the grass with several spent casings laying within a few feet. Myself and Deputy Wayne Sless proceeded into the residence to clear it. I located a juvenile [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the closet of the master bedroom. While clearing the upstairs area I heard banging from the attic crawlspace. Deputy Sless entered the crawl space and located a second juvenile [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the attic. Both juveniles were escorted outside to there mother.
I then proceeded to secure the handguns in my patrol vehicle and gather evidence bags to collect the shell casings. As I returned to the scene the juveniles had picked up several of the shell casings. The other casings were photographed and will be attached to this report along with video doorbell footage of the incident. All other evidence was collected and bagged. Deputy Andra Townsend transported Stephen to the Habersham County Detention Center. I then gathered information about the incident from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] as well as a witness statement. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Stephen chased her out of the residence then shot into the air several times.
After all information and evidence was collected I responded to the Habersham County Detention Center where a intent to charge form and victims notification form was completed. All evidence was bagged and placed into evidence locker #6 along with a completed property and evidence form.
Later this date I completed and was granted the following warrants by Honorable Judge Amy Thomas.
Aggravated Assault (FVA)
Cruelty to Children 1st Degree x2
Discharge of a firearm while under the influence
Discharge of a firearm near a public highway.
