On 03/17/2026 at approximately 11:15 a.m. I, Lt. Pontes 208, responded in a code one status to the area of [600 BLOCK] Cliff C Kimsey Cr. for a drunk disorderly call.
Upon my arrival I located the suspect known to me as Wendy Howard due to the multiple calls concerning her during my duty time at Cornelia PD. It was clear to me that Howard was under the influence. As I was walking up to her standing in front of apartment [600 BLOCK] yelling cursing and screaming. Lt. Newkirk arrived and walked up to us and started speaking with Wendy Howard.
I met with the complainant [WITNESS #1] who said she let Howard stay in her apartment last night with two other homeless people and that Wendy had been drinking moonshine all night and this morning she started arguing with everyone in the apartment so they got her outside and put her belongings outside and locked her out and called 911.
We made several attempts to have Howard grab her items and leave. She refused and continued to yell and curse where neighbors could hear her and came outside to see what was going on. I then placed Howard under arrest securing her in handcuffs behind her back confirming proper fit and comfort. I placed Howard in the rear passenger compartment. I then gathered her belongings and placed them in the rear compartment and transported her to the Habersham Detention Center without incident where she was turned over to staff for processing and bond.
