HALL COUNTY, Ga. – On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, Georgia State Patrol troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a man riding a motorcycle for not wearing a helmet. The man initiated a pursuit, crashed, ran into the woods, dove into Lake Lanier, and started swimming.
37-year-old Clint Nalley refused to stop his vehicle and turned onto a dead-end street before losing control and crashing. As Nalley began swimming away, state troopers and a Hall County Sheriff’s deputy approached a civilian and utilized their boat to apprehend the suspect.
After fishing him out of the water, they searched his person and discovered “a trafficking amount” of cocaine and methamphetamine. The sheriff’s office disclosed that the street value of the drugs totaled over $6,000.
Nalley was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and then taken to the Hall County Jail, where he remains on a $12,160 bond. This case is pending.
