On March 7, 2025, at approximately 1624 hours, I (Officer Schroeder 525) was dispatched to a threat in progress call at the Jameson, 3530 Thurmon Tanner Parkway, Oakwood, GA, 30566.

As we went to the call, Dispatch updated the call notes to reflect what the caller had said was happening. The caller stated that a woman was threatening them with a knife. The caller said the female was staying in room [REDACTED], and they were in room [REDACTED]. The caller said the woman would stab him and slit his dog’s throat. The caller stated that the woman had left when he had called the police.

As I arrived on the scene, I saw multiple UNG police vehicles and Sgt. Henderson’s 512 Vehicle. Sgt. Henderson and I approached room [REDACTED] and made contact with the aggressor, later identified as Tammie Hatfield ([REDACTED BY AGENCY] 1962). Inside the room was another female, later identified as [WITNESS #1] ([REDACTED BY AGENCY] 1959, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]). Also in the room, sitting on a table near the entrance, was a knife with a black handle. I took the knife and put it into evidence.

[WITNESS #1] left the room and was interviewed by other officers while I interviewed Hatfield. Hatfield stated that her dog had been attacked earlier by the complainant’s dog. The Complainant was later identified as [VICTIM #1] [REDACTED BY AGENCY] 1968 [REDACTED BY AGENCY]). I looked over Hatfield’s dog and saw no visible injuries.

I asked Hatfield if she went to room [REDACTED] to talk to [VICTIM #1], and she answered yes. I then asked Hatfield if she went to his room with a knife in her hand, and she said yes, it was for her protection. I asked if she threatened [VICTIM #1], and she said she didn’t threaten him.

At this point, I reconvened with the officers that had spoken to [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #1]. Both [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #1] gave similar stories that said Hatfield went to [VICTIM #1]’s room and threatened him with a knife. Written witness statements were obtained from both [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #1].

With the witness statements and collaborating stories, I placed Hatfield under arrest for Aggravated Assault. I handcuffed Hatfield and checked for fit before double-locking. I then searched Hatfield incident to arrest, looking for; Fruits of the crime, means of escape, weapons, and contraband. Hatfield was placed in the back of my patrol car and seat-belted in for her safety.

Hatfield was transported to the Hall County Jail and turned over to jail staff without incident.

I will be seeking warrants for aggravated assault.

Written witness statements were obtained from [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #1].

A follow up was performed at the location on March 17, 2025 and a video was obtained of the incident.
