American Philly & Wings, located at 819 Russell Pkwy in Warner Robins, received a score of 54 points out of a possible 100 points during their 03/11/2025 inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Inspector Notes: Observed the Person in Charge (PIC) not ensuring employees are properly cold holding cooked rice. The PIC must ensure employees are properly cold holding time/temperature control for safety foods, being particularly careful in holding those foods known to cause severe foodborne illness and death, through daily oversight of the employees’ routine monitoring of the holding temperatures using appropriate temperature measuring devices, properly scaled and calibrated. Corrected on Site (COS): Rice discarded. Please use a calibrated thermometer to constantly check the temperature of rice and recommend not leaving the rice out at room temperature.

Inspector Notes: The Person In Charge (PIC) was not ensuring the raw meats and the ready-to-eat foods were stored correctly. The PIC must ensure the employees are aware of placing foods into appropriate storage locations, as required by this Chapter, such as they are protected from contamination, by storing raw meats and ready-to-eat foods in their proper locations. Corrected on Site (COS): Tzatziki sauce moved to the ready-to-eat storage location and the raw shell eggs moved to the shelf, below the rice and margarine. A document of proper storage was provided to the PIC.

Inspector Notes: Observed the employee washing his hands while wearing gloves. The gloves were not removed before handwashing. Food employees shall clean their hands and exposed portions of their arms, including surrogate prosthetic devices for hands or arms, for at least 20 seconds, using a cleaning compound in a handwashing sink that is properly equipped. Corrected on Site (COS): Employee removed gloves and washed his hands properly at the hand sink.

Inspector Notes: Observed employee washing hands while wearing gloves at the three compartment sink. Food employees shall clean their hands in a handwashing sink or approved automatic handwashing facility and may not clean their hands in a sink used for food preparation or warewashing, or in a service sink or curbed cleaning facility used for the disposal of mop water and similar liquid waste. Corrected on Site (COS): Employee removed gloves and washed his hands at the hand sink.

Inspector Notes: Observed raw beef stored above Tzatziki sauce and observed raw shell eggs stored above cooked rice and margarine inside of the walk-in cooler. Food shall be protected from cross contamination by separating raw animal foods during storage, preparation, holding, and display from: ready-to-eat foods. Corrected on Site (COS): The PIC relocated foods to the correct location.

Inspector Notes: Observed build up located inside of the soda nozzles. Surfaces of utensils and equipment contacting food that is not time/temperature control for safety food shall be cleaned at least every 24 hours for iced tea dispensers, including nozzles and consumer self-service utensils such as tongs, scoops, or ladles. Corrected on Site (COS): soda nozzles removed from the dispense machine and moved to the three compartment sink area to be washed, rinsed, and sanitized.

Inspector Notes: Observed a bulk container of rice inside the reach-in cooler at 45 F. The reach-in cooler is 36 F, but the rice was cold holding above 41 F. Except during preparation, cooking, or cooling, or when time is used as the public health control, time/temperature control for safety food shall be maintained at 41°F or below. Corrected on Site (COS): rice discarded.

14A – in-use utensils: properly stored

Repeat: No
Inspector Notes: Observed the ice scoop being stored with the handle touching the ice inside the ice machine. During pauses in food preparation or dispensing, food preparation and dispensing utensils shall be stored in food that is not time/temperature control for safety food with their handles above the top of the food within containers or equipment that can be closed. Keep the ice scoop with the handle upright to prevent contamination of the ice.
Additional remarks:
Follow-up inspection will be conducted in 1-3 business days. Facility to temporarily close due to three consecutive unsatisfactory routine inspections. Per rules and reguations, if a food service establishment that is graded as a “U” on two consecutive routine inspections will be asked to voluntarily close until all violations are corrected and/or have enforcement action taken to suspend or revoke the food service permit.
