Ashton Manor At Sugarloaf in Lawrenceville receives a 64% on their recent health inspection

Ashton Manor At Sugarloaf, located at 1155 Lawrenceville Hwy in Lawrenceville, received a score of 64 points out of a possible 100 points during their 01/22/2026 inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

The violations noted by the inspector were:

Violation #1:
1-2A: .03(2)(a)-(l), (n)Several risk factor violations were observed during today’s inspection resulting in an unsatisfactory score as a result of an overall lack of active managerial control. It is the responsibility of the person in charge to ensure compliance with the food code by demonstrating active managerial control within their facility. (Pf)

Violation #2:
2-2D: .06(2)(o)Observed one handwashing sink that was blocked by a cart and another handwash sink that had table mats hanging over it. A handwashing sink shall be maintained so that it is accessible at all times for employee use. (Pf)
Corrective Actions: Removed mats and pushed cart out of way.

Violation #3:
4-2B: .05(7)(a)1Observed black mold-like substance in ice machine of the second kitchen and in the main kitchen ice machine. **2ND CONSECUTIVE VIOLATION OF THE SAME CODE PROVISION** Equipment food-contact surfaces and utensils shall be clean to sight and touch. (Pf)

Violation #4:
6-1A: .04(6)(f)Observed turkey and ham salads stored for cold holding in display cooler at a temp above 41. Time/temperature control for safety food shall be maintained at 41°F (5°C) or below. (P)
Corrective Actions: Discarded

Violation #5:
6-1B: .04(6)(f)Observed pork loin being hot held at 122 degrees F. Time/temperature control for safety food shall be maintained at 135°F (57°C) or above. (P)
Corrective Actions: Reheated

Violation #6:
8-2B: .07(6)(g)Observed in use quat sanitizer with a concentration that was too high. Chemical sanitizers used on food contact surfaces shall not exceed stated concentrations (100 ppm for chlorine and 400 ppm for quaternary ammonia). (P)
Corrective Actions: Diluted to acceptable level.

Violation #7:
12A: .04(4)(u)Apples for self-service in memory care not protected or wrapped. All food, whether on display, being prepared for service or placed for consumer self-service shall be protected from contamination from consumers standing or sitting within eight feet of the food. (P)
Corrective Actions: Removed from open area and wrapped.

Violation #8:
14B: .05(10)(e) 1,2,4Observed multiple dishes being stacked while wet. Observed multiple plates stored uncovered in secondary kitchen. **3RD CONSECUTIVE VIOLATION OF THE SAME CODE PROVISION** Clean equipment and utensils shall be stored in a self-draining position that allows air drying and covered or inverted. (C)
Corrective Actions: Removed and placed in dish washing area.

Violation #9:
18: .07(5)(k)Observed live cockroaches as well as dead cockroaches in the secondary kitchen area. The presence of insects, rodents, and other pests shall be controlled to minimize their presence on the premises by: 1. Routinely inspecting incoming shipments of food and supplies; (C) 2. Routinely inspecting the premises for evidence of pests; (C) 3. Using methods, if pests are found, such as trapping devices or other means of pest control as specified under subsections (6)(e), (6)(m), and (6)(n) of this Rule; (Pf) and 4. Eliminating harborage conditions.(C)

Violation #10:
18: .07(2)(m)Back door is not self-closing in both kitchens. **2ND CONSECUTIVE VIOLATION OF THE SAME CODE PROVISION** Outer openings of a food service establishment shall be protected against the entry of insects and rodents by: 1) filling or closing holes and other gaps along floors, walls, and ceilings; (C) 2) closed, tight-fitting windows; (C) and 3) solid self-closing, tight-fitting doors. (C)

Additional remarks:
All cold and hot held temperatures were in compliance unless otherwise noted.
Note: per new code procedures for vomit/diarrhea clean-up needs to be present.
Thermometers calibrated see temp log.
Uncorrected items must be corrected by 1/29/2026 or the food service permit may be suspended.
A follow-up inspection will be done within 10 days and a required additional routine within 1 year.
