Hao Quang Seafood Restaurant, located at 1630 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth, received a score of 59 points out of a possible 100 points during their 05/06/2024 inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health.
The violations noted by the inspector were:
Violation #1
1-2A: .03(2)(a)-(l), (n)The person in charge is not practicing active managerial control resulting in today’s unsatisfactory score. It is the responsibility of the person in charge to ensure compliance with the food code by demonstrating active managerial control within their facility. (Pf)
Violation #2
4-1A: .04(4)(n)1Employee wiped nose with gloves and began handling clean utensils. If used, single-use gloves shall be used for only one task such as working with ready-to-eat food or with raw animal food, used for no other purpose, and discarded when damaged or soiled, or when interruptions occur in the operation. (P)
Corrective Actions: Employee removed gloves and washed hands. Utensils placed into warewash area to be cleaned.
Violation #3
4-2B: .05(7)(a)1Ice machine with build up. Equipment food-contact surfaces and utensils shall be clean to sight and touch. (Pf)
Corrective Actions: Ice machine cleaned.
Violation #4
6-1A: .04(6)(f)Multiple foods not maintaining 41F or below in prep cooler and in walk in cooler. Shrimp sauce in counter at room temperature. See temp log. Time/temperature control for safety food shall be maintained at 41°F (5°C) or below. (P)
Corrective Actions: Foods discarded.
Violation #5
6-2: .04(6)(g)Several items cooked and stored in freezer longer than 24 hours and placed into prep coolers without dates. Refrigerated, ready-to-eat time/temperature control for safety foods prepared and held in a food establishment for more than 24-hours shall be clearly marked to indicate the date of prep or the date by with the food shall be used/discarded for a maximum of 7 days. The day of preparation shall be counted as Day 1. (Pf)
Corrective Actions: Foods not able to determine dates were discarded. Others foods marked with date cooked.
Violation #6
11D: .05(2)(x)Facility needs thermometers in two coolers in dining area. Cold or hot holding equipment used for time/temperature control for safety food shall be designed to include and shall be equipped with at least one integral or permanently affixed temperature measuring device that is located to allow easy viewing of the device’s temperature display. (C)
Violation #7
13A: .02(1)(d)Facility has an old inspection report posted. The most current inspection report shall be prominently displayed in public view at all times, within fifteen feet of the front or primary public door and between five feet and seven feet from the floor and in an area where it can be read at a distance of one foot away. (C)
Corrective Actions: Facility posted today’s report.
Violation #8
18: .07(5)(k)More than 2 live roaches observed in kitchen. The presence of insects, rodents, and other pests shall be controlled to minimize their presence on the premises by: 1. Routinely inspecting incoming shipments of food and supplies; (C) 2. Routinely inspecting the premises for evidence of pests; (C) 3. Using methods, if pests are found, such as trapping devices or other means of pest control as specified under subsections (6)(e), (6)(m), and (6)(n) of this Rule; (Pf) and 4. Eliminating harborage conditions.(C)
