IHOP, located at 4176 Logan Drive in Loganville, received a score of 73 points out of a possible 100 points during their 11/02/2022 inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health.
The violations noted by the inspector were:
Violation #1
4-2B: .05(7)(a)1Observed several food containers stored as clean with food debris on interior surface. Observed mold like substance in interior of soda machine nozzles. Equipment food-contact surfaces and utensils shall be clean to sight and touch. (Pf)
Corrective Actions: Food containers were rewashed and sanitized. Soda machine was cleaned and sanitized.
Violation #2
6-1C: .04(6)(d) Rehydrated hashbrowns and cooked bacon not cooling to 70 degrees within 2hrs. Cooked time/temperature control for safety food shall be cooled: 1) from 135°F (57°C) to 70°F (21°C) within 2 hours; and 2) from 70°F (21°C) to 41°F (5°C) or below within 4 hours (provided the food met the first limit). Corrective Actions: Foods were discarded.
Violation #3
8-2B: .07(6)(b)Observed a container of bleach tablets not labeled in the chemical storage area. Working containers used for storing poisonous or toxic materials such as cleaners and sanitizers taken from bulk supplies shall be clearly and individually identified with the common name of the material. (Pf) **2nd CONSECUTIVE REPEAT VIOLATION ON A ROUTINE INSPECTION**
Corrective Actions: Container of bleach tablet were labeled.
Violation #4
11A: .04(6)(e)Facility not using proper methods for cooling cooked bacon and rehydrated hashbrowns. Cooked bacon cooling in plastic containers while covered and stacked on bottom shelf of walk in cooler. Rehydrated hashbrowns cooling in a compacted carton while closed in the walk in freezer. Foods shall be cooled using one or more methods approved by the health authority (i.e., small batches, thinner portions, ice wands, blast chillers, ice as an ingredient, placing in the walk-in cooler or walk-in freezer uncovered (or partially uncovered) as long as the food is protected from overhead contamination). Corrective Actions: Foods were discarded and discussed alternative methods to ensure proper cooling.
Violation #5
15A: .05(6)(a)Observed seal on two door standing prep cooler not in good repair (when one door closed the other opened). Seal on ice machine in disrepair. Ice accumulation in standing freezer and walk in freezer. Equipment shall be maintained in a state of repair and condition that meets the requirements specified under subsections (1) and (2)of this Rule. (C)
Violation #6
15C: .05(7)(a)2,3Observed debris and dust on fans in walk-in cooler. Also observed glasses stored as clean with food debris and syrup accumulation on the exterior surfaces. Nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment shall be kept free of an accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue, and other debris. (C)
Corrective Actions: Glasses were removed and cleaned and sanitized.
Violation #7
16A: .06(1)(g),(h)Kitchen and food preparation areas do not have hot water (vegetable sink, 3 compartment sink, and handwashing sinks in the kitchen and front service area). Water temperatures ranged from 81-97 degrees. Hot water generation and distribution systems shall be sufficient to meet the peak hot water demands throughout the food service establishment. (Pf) **3rd CONSECUTIVE REPEAT VIOLATION ON A ROUTINE INSPECTION**
Corrective Actions: Technician arrived during inspection and adjusted hot water heater (vegetable sink was only the sink with hot water after adjustment). All sinks must have hot water in the kitchen and food preparation areas by 11/7/22.
Violation #8
17C: .07(5)(a),(b)1,2,3Observed debris on several air vents in the kitchen. Observed masking tape along the corner of the ventilation hood. Observed black mold like substance on the wall next to the office. Masking tape must be removed and the listed areas must be cleaned and sanitized. All physical facilities shall be maintained in good repair and shall be cleaned as often as necessary to keep them clean and by methods that prevent contamination of food products. (C)

NOTE: The cream cheese icing contains cream cheese and is considered a time/temperature control for safety (TCS) food. Cream cheese icing must be held at 41F or less or 135F or greater. If a food study has been performed indicating that cream cheese icing is on non TCS, the food study must be submitted to Gwinnett County’s Environmental Health Department.
NOTE: Facility must apply for a remodel with Gwinnett County’s Environmental Health Department if a new hot water heater is installed.
