Los Bravos Mexican Restaurant receives a 70% on their recent health inspection

Los Bravos Mexican Restaurant, located at 2895 N Decatur Road, Suite B, received a score of 70 points out of a possible 100 points during their 05/11/2022 inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

The violations noted by the inspector were:

Violation of Code: [511-6-1.04(4)(a)1,2,3,4(I)]
Upon arrival, observed an employee cutting lemons to be used for beverages with bare hands. Advised PIC that barehand contact is not allowed with ready-to-eat foods. COS: PIC had the employee discard the cut lemon, wash hands and put gloves on. Corrected On-Site. New Violation.

Violation of Code: [511-6-1.05(6)(n)]
Observed the dish machine sanitizer concentration at 25ppm. PIC primed the sanitizer and re-ran the dish machine several times. The highest reading for the dish machine sanitizer concentration was still 25ppm. Advised PIC Chlorine sanitizer concentration shall be maintained between 50ppm-200ppm. Advised PIC to have the dish machine serviced and not to use until the sanitizer concentration reads between 50ppm – 200ppm. Advised to use the 3-compartment sink to wash, rinse and sanitize, until the dish machine is working properly. Repeat Violation. Correct By: 05/13/2022

Violation of Code: [511-6-1.05(6)(n)]
Observed a bucket of quat sanitizer solution at less than 100ppm. Advised PIC that quat sanitizer concentration shall be maintained between 200ppm-400ppm at all times. COS: PIC remade the sanitizer solution to 300ppm quat. Corrected On-Site. Repeat Violation.

Violation of Code: [511-6-1.05(7)(a)1]
Observed 3 of 4 microwaves (2 on the cookline, 1 in wait station area) unclean to sight and touch on the inside. Advised PIC to clean and sanitize the inside of the microwaves. Repeat Violation.

Violation of Code: [511-6-1.04(6)(f)]
Observed multiple time/temperature controlled for safety (TCS) foods cold holding at temperatures above 41F. Observed multiple ramekins of salsa at 50F-53F, multiple ramekins of sour cream at 50F, and a jug of whole milk at 46F, all located in the Sliding Door Cooler. The ambient temperature of the cooler was 52F. COS: PIC discarded all TCS foods (salsa, sour cream, milk) that had been in the cooler longer than 4 hours. There was 1 tray of salsa ramekins that had been in the cooler ~2 hours that were moved to the walk-in-cooler. Advised PIC to have the cooler serviced and not to hold TCS foods in the cooler until it has an ambient temperature at 41F or below. Advised ideal temperature for cooler is between 36F-38F. Corrected On-Site. Repeat Violation.

Violation of Code: [511-6-1.07(6)(c)]
Observed a bottle of lime juice stored on a shelf amongst multiple chemical bottles, in the the dry storage area. Observed a bottle of Windex stored next to clean metal containers, near the vegetable sink area. Advised PIC that chemicals shall be stored so they cannot contaminate food, equipment, utensils, linens, single-service and/or single-use articles. COS PIC moved the lime juice container to a shelf away from chemical storage. PIC moved the Windex bottle to an designated chemical storage area. Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
