Rice Restaurant, located at 15 Laurel Canyon Village Circuit Suite 108 in Canton, received a score of 67 points out of a possible 100 points during their 03/07/2023 inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Inspector Notes: Observed improper horizontal storage of raw animal food in prep cooler refrigerator. Raw shrimp was stored behind cooked pork. Proper horizontal storage is based on final cook temperature of food. Proper horizontal storage must be achieved by storing foods with the highest final cook temperature (Chicken @ 165°F) at the front of the cooler and ready-to-eat foods (like raw vegetables, salad, fruit) at the back of the cooler so that cross contamination may not occur. Person in charge (PIC)/Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM) instructed employee to rearrange residential cooler.

THIS FACILITY IS ON A INCREASED FREQUENCY INSPECTION SCHEDULE DUE TO PRIOR HISTORY OF POOR PERFORMANCE.

*PRODUCE PEST CONTROL DOCUMENTATION WITH CHEMICALS USED IN ESTABLISHMENT AT A MINIMIUM
*REMOVE HEAVY ICE BUILD UP IN WIF
*REMOVE ALL BOXES OFF FLOOR IN WIF
IT WAS DISCOVERED TODAY THE PREP COOLER AND THE STEAM WELL ARE NOT MOVEABLE DUE TO THE POWER SUPPLY ROUTING FROM THE CEILING. OUR DEPARTMENT WILL VERIFTY WITH THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT IF THIS MEETS CODE. IF SO THEN MAY KEEP POWER OUTLETS WIRED AS THEY ARE CURRENTLY HOWEVER THE PREP COOLER AND STEAM TABLE MUST BE DISCONNECTED FROM IT.
