[NARRATIVE #2 on December 09, 2025]

On December 9, 2025, at approximately 0635 hours I, Officer Parrott of the McDonough Police Dept. responded to Comfort Suites located at 64 Hwy 81 West. The location is within the city limits of McDonough (Henry County) Georgia.

Upon arrival at the incident location I was contacted by the front desk manager. The front desk manager advised an unknown black male wearing a dark colored jacket, light green pants with a stripe, and a beanie on his head had walked into the establishment and began making a plate of breakfast food. The front desk manager advised she didn’t recognize unknown black male/suspect later identified as Brian Sherrod Canidate (DOB[REDACTED BY AGENCY]).

The front desk manager advised she approached the suspect and inquired whether the suspect was a guest at the hotel. The manager advised the suspect became agitated and refused to answer the question. The manager advised she walked away at that time. The manager advised she observed the suspect exit the hotel with the plate of food via one of the back hallways. The manager advised she observed the suspect enter the establish a few more times at which time she contacted law enforcement.

The suspect was not on scene as of the time of the investigation. A short time later, the suspect was found at the RaceTrac gas station located at 1019 Hwy 20/81 West. The suspect was identified by his clothing which matched the description given by the hotel manager.

The officer, Ofc. J. Keith, who located the suspect, approached the suspect along with other officers already at the gas station. In speaking with the suspect, the suspect denied more than once to being the suspect we were looking for. The suspect provided a name and date of birth which did not return with any information in GCIC/NCIC. The suspect was detained at that time until he could be identified.

The suspect again advised he had not done anything wrong to be placed in handcuffs. The suspect was handcuffed to the rear, double locked, and checked for fit. The suspect remained adamant he had done nothing wrong. When advised that officers were going to look at security footage from the hotel, the suspect finally admitted to being the suspect we were looking for.

The suspect was then advised he was under arrest for Trespassing and Obstruction. The suspect was searched for weapons and contraband prior to being secured in the rear seat of my marked patrol unit. The suspect was wearing multiple layers of clothing and was advised if he had anything on his person that we needed to know about, he needed to let us know about it before we get to the jail. The suspect advised he had nothing.

An empty canister of pepper spray was located on the suspect along with some phone chargers, a remote, some earbuds, some US coins, some loose clothing, and an empty syringe with an orange cap. The syringe did not appear to contain anything or any residue. The syringe was disposed of along with the pepper spray container. We were able to locate the suspects property identity. The suspect showed to have a suspended Georgia driver license for child support obligations. The suspension showed no serve date.

The suspect was served notice of the suspension. Upon releasing the suspect to the jailer, I exited the sally port and relocated to the other side of the parking lot. Prior to exiting the parking lot, I conducted a back seat check of my marked patrol unit. Upon doing so, I located a small white piece of tissue paper, and a small wad of what appeared to be a purple candy wrapper.

Next to the purple candy wrapper, I observed a little white powder dust on the floor of my patrol vehicle. I backed off at that time and put on gloves and a mask. During this time, K-9/Swat Unit Sgt. Joshua Cash passed my location. I inquired if he could have a K-9 dog do a free air sniff of my patrol vehicle. Sgt. Cash advised he had a TruNarc Handheld Narcotics Analyzer in his office.

I cleared the use of the device with one of my supervisors. I then photographed the evidence in place via my body worn camera, placed the evidence in a clear evidence bag, and met with Sgt. Cash in his office. Sgt. Cash used the TruNarc™ Handheld Narcotics Analyzer and was able to identify the white powdery substance as Methamphetamine.

A picture of the results along with the white powdery substance was obtained and attached to this report. I then submitted a GBI submission form for further drug identification. I entered the white powdery substance as evidence in the property room located at 50 Lawrenceville Street. The syringes were placed in the biohazard container in the property room at that location. A warrant was requested. Body camera/Dash camera used. This case is active pending warrant.
