[NARRATIVE #1 on December 09, 2025]
On Tuesday, December 09, 2025 at approximately 1058 hours I, Ofc. A Mirville 2141, responded to a disturbance at Starbuck; located at 1479 highway 20 W., McDonough, Ga., 30253 involving the complainant, Mr. [VICTIM #1] [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and arrestee, Mr. Dennis Hampton [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Upon my arrival I made contact with Mr. [VICTIM #1] initially and began my investigation.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated he was in the drive-thru of the Starbuck’s inching towards the menu/intercom in his white GMC Sierra 2500 pickup truck with his wife sitting in the front passenger seat. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated he observed someone walking in front of him so he stopped to let the person pass. After the unknown person pass he continued to inch up. Abruptly, he observed Mr. Hampton walking towards the front of his vehicle so he stopped again.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] then advised Mr. Hampton became aggressive and using loud profanity just after punching the outside passenger side front door of his vehicle where his wife was sitting. Mr. [VICTIM #1] indicated that Mr. Hampton continued to yell and argue with him calling him racist, amongst other things. By the time I arrived Mr. Hampton was inside of the store ordering food and Mr. [VICTIM #1] was finishing making his way through the drive-thru.
As I spoke with Mr. [VICTIM #1], Mr. Hampton exited the rear of the store and began yelling at me regarding what transpired. Mr. Hampton was yelling profanity in attempts to yell over Mr. [VICTIM #1] explaining the incident to me. While I was obtaining information regarding the incident, Ofc. Keith 2143 arrived on scene to make contact with Mr. Hampton.
Next, I walked inside to obtain footage of the incident but was advised by the store manager that there was no footage of the incident and no cameras on the outside in the area of where they were disputing. Next, an unknown witness came to me and advised that he did not observe the incident but heard them arguing loudly before Mr. Hampton walked into the store. I spoke with an employee at the location who advised he only heard the arguement, but mainly heard Mr. Hampton yelling at Mr. [VICTIM #1].
While speaking with an employee of the store I instructed Ofc. Keith to identify Mr. Hampton. Ofc. Keith indicated that Mr. Hampton refused to identify himself. I told Ofc. Keith to detain Mr. Hampton in handcuff. I walked outside and immediately noticed that Ofc. Keith was attempting to place Mr. Hampton into handcuffs but was struggling. I went over to assist and instructing Mr. Hampton to place his hands behind his back as I grabbed his wrist to place his hands behind his back.
Mr. Hampton was advised multiple times that he was being detained. Mr. Hampton continued to resist by tensing his body while pulling his arms infront of him. Mr. Hampton stated that he was not putting his hands behind his back and that if we want to handcuff him, to do it infront of him. Due to his large size and overpowering two officers, I unholstered my taser and pressed it against his side in preparation for a drive stun to gain compliance. Mr. Hampton felt me pressing the taser against his body and became compliant.
After Mr. Hampton was handcuffed behind his back, double-locked, and checked for fit, he was placed in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle while we obtained a written statement from Mr. [VICTIM #1] regarding the incident and gathering Mr. Hampton’s personal items from inside the Starbuck’s.
Mr. Hampton was placed under arrest for Obstruction-Failure to Identify and two counts of Obstruction for disobeying the lawful commands of two police officers.
I transported Mr. Hampton to the Henry County jail. Once we arrived Mr. Hampton continued to not identify himself. I was notified by the booking officer he could not accept Mr. Hampton’s bookbag so I retained it for submission to property and evidence for safekeeping.
I inventoried Mr. Hampton’s bookbag for the purpose of safekeeping and located multiple documents and bank cards with the name Dennis Hampton. I ran the name Dennis Hampton through GCIC and located a driver’s license for Mr. Hampton and was able to positively identify him. Mr. Hampton was aware that I was able to identify him and confirmed who he was by advising the booking officer of his name and date of birth.
Mr. Hampton was issued citations by Ofc. Keith and turned over to the Henry County jail and a backseat check was logged at 1314 hours.
I submitted Mr. Hampton’s personal item’s to property and evidence for safekeeping.
