On September 28, 2025, at approximately 0240 hours, I conducted a traffic stop using my emergency equipment on the listed vehicle for speeding. The violation was 54 miles per hour (mph) in a 35 mph zone and was observed on Bill Gardner Pkwy, near the I-75 N Entrance Ramp.

I was positioned stationary on Bill Gardner Parkway, facing eastbound, across the street from Comfort Inn. When I observed the vehicle approaching me, I estimated it’s speed to be approximately 52 mph. As it got closer, I activated my vehicle mounted RADAR and confirmed the speed to be 54 mph.

When the vehicle passed me, I activated my emergency lights and siren and because of my headlights, I was able to observed a black male in a red shirt with long dreads driving the vehicle. When I got behind the vehicle, it turned into the Shell gas station at 4663 Bill Gardner Pkwy. As we entered the parking lot, it appeared as if the vehicle was going to continue through the parking lot, but it suddenly stopped. When it did so, I observed it rock back and forth and what appeared to be at least two people moving around inside. I observed the passengers swapping seats and requested another unit.

As a backup unit was en route, I ordered the driver out of the vehicle. When the driver exited, I observed he was a black male in all black. This suspect, later identified as, Jaden Briggs, was placed in handcuffs. I then ordered the back, left passenger out of the vehicle. He was later determined to be [REDACTED]. [REDACTED], was not charged in this incident, but was temporarily detained in handcuffs. Once he was handcuffed, I ordered the back, right passenger out of the vehicle. He was later determined to be Darius Reeves and was the original driver. He was placed under arrest.

Following Reeves, I ordered the front, right passenger out of the vehicle. He was later determined to be [REDACTED]. He also wasn’t charged in this incident, but was temporarily handcuffed. Once everyone was properly detained, I confirmed Briggs had got into the driver’s seat in place of Reeves and informed him he was under arrest.

Following my investigation, Briggs spoke with his grandmother, [REDACTED] (owner of vehicle), on his phone and advised her on what was going on. She gave me permission to turn her vehicle over to Briggs’ friends so it would not be towed. [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] were released and [REDACTED] was given possession of the vehicle.

Reeves and Briggs were both transported to the Henry County Jail on the charge of Disorderly Conduct-Obstruction (CO 9.04.010). Reeves was also charged with Speeding (O.C.G.A. 40-6-181). He was also wanted out of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for Violation of Probation.
