On March 17th, 2026, at approximately 8:48 pm, I responded to [1500 BLOCK] Big Bud Lane, Locust Grove, in reference to a dispute involving a dog sale.

Upon arrival, I made contact with a male subject who identified himself as DeAngelo Jones. The subject stated he had sold a Yorkie dog to a female at the residence two weeks prior for $500, receiving $250 as partial payment. He stated he came to check on the dog’s condition and claimed the homeowner became upset when he arrived unannounced. The subject stated he did not attempt to take the dog back and only wanted to ensure the animal was doing well. He stated he had messages and calls documenting the transaction and mentioned he operated a dog farm with his business partner.

I proceeded to the residence and made contact with [VICTIM #1], who stated she is disabled and receives monthly disability payments. [VICTIM #1] provided the following account: The subject had originally offered to give her a dog for free for her children, then later stated the dog cost $500. She agreed to pay $250 initially and $250 at a later date, as she is paid once a month. [VICTIM #1] stated she gave the subject $250 at the beginning of March 2026. She stated the subject arrived at her residence unannounced on this date and she told him not to come to her house without permission.

[VICTIM #1] stated the subject threatened to “get her killed” during the interaction. She stated she no longer wanted contact with the subject and did not want to pay the remaining $250, only wanting to be left alone. [VICTIM #1] stated the subject provided no vaccination records for the dog despite claiming the dogs were professionally cared for.

[VICTIM #1]’s 12-year-old daughter was present and had interacted with the subject at the door. I reviewed footage from [VICTIM #1]’s doorbell camera showing the subject at the residence. The video showed the daughter opening the door, the dog coming outside, and the subject speaking with the daughter before returning to his vehicle. The footage did not clearly capture the alleged threat.

I returned to speak with the subject, who was standing near a rental vehicle. When I requested identification, the subject initially stated he did not have any identification on him and claimed to be from lllinois. The subject stated his name was Steven Jones, later changing it to DeAngelo Jones. After extended questioning, the subject stated his actual name was Jerome Roden, date of birth [REDACTED], and provided a social security number ending in [REDACTED].

I conducted a records check on Jerome Roden, which revealed an active misdemeanor warrant out of Henry County, Georgia, warrant number 2023-652-W, for obstruction of officers. The warrant was confirmed valid and extraditable.

I placed Roden under arrest, handcuffed him behind his back, checked for fit, and double locked. During a search incident to arrest, I located a Georgia state identification card in Roden’s front right pocket bearing his actual name. I also located $613 in U.S. currency, which Roden stated came from a Navy Federal credit union account withdrawal. I detected a strong odor of marijuana on Roden’s person, but no marijuana was located during the search. Additional items recovered included a cellular phone, a watch, and a small tool Roden stated was used for removing watch links.

Roden stated he did not know he had an active warrant and apologized for providing a false name and date of birth. He stated he was nervous and made a poor decision. Roden stated he informed [VICTIM #1] at 6:00 pm that he would be coming to check on the dog, but she did not respond to his calls. He stated he never threatened [VICTIM #1] and only wanted to ensure the dog was healthy as part of his dog breeding business.

I contacted Roden’s girlfriend, [REDACTED], via Roden’s cellular phone and advised her to retrieve the rental vehicle from the scene within 30 minutes to avoid impound. I sent [REDACTED] a text message with the vehicle location at [1500 BLOCK] Big Bud Lane, Locust Grove. Sgt. Jones remained at the scene to ensure the vehicle was retrieved. [REDACTED] arrived and took possession of the rental vehicle, providing valid identification and proof of rental agreement.

I issued Roden a criminal trespass warning for [VICTIM #1]’s residence at [1500 BLOCK] Big Bud Lane, Locust Grove, advising him not to return to the property. I also issued Roden a citation for violation of City Ordinance 9.04.010, Disorderly Conduct, subsection T, for providing false name and date of birth to law enforcement. I transported Roden to Henry County Jail without incident and turned him over to jail staff at approximately 10:02 pm.
