On 12/13/2025 at approximately 2354 hours, I, Officer Prescott with the McDonough Police Department, responded to a call for service at 95 Highway 81 W (Hilton Garden Inn), located within the city limits of McDonough, Henry County, Georgia. This incident was closed by arrest.
Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant, who advised that a male guest had come downstairs and began conversing with her. She stated that during the conversation, the subject became loud and started yelling and using profanity toward her. The complainant advised that the subject returned upstairs to his room just prior to officers’ arrival. She further advised that the subject was staying in room [REDACTED].
Another officer and I proceeded upstairs and made contact with the subject in room [REDACTED]. I initially attempted to resolve the situation by issuing a warning and advising the subject to remain in his room for the remainder of the night. However, the subject appeared intoxicated, became belligerent, and began arguing with me.
I requested the subject’s identification, but he refused to identify himself. Due to his refusal to identify and his disorderly behavior, the subject was placed under arrest. He was handcuffed with his hands behind his back. The handcuffs were checked for proper fit and double-locked.
The subject was later identified as Michael Gilbert. He was issued the appropriate citations and transported to the Henry County Jail, where he was released to jail staff without incident.
While in my custody, Gilbert complained that the handcuffs were too tight. I checked the handcuffs for proper fit multiple times throughout the transport and custody period and found them to be appropriately fitted.
I conducted a backseat check of my patrol vehicle after clearing the jail at approximately 0036 hours.
