On Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 18:09, Sergeant Rodriguez and I were dispatched to [1100 BLOCK] Amadas Drive to investigate a verbal argument that had been reported as a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, I found that Sergeant Rodriguez was already on the scene talking with [WITNESS #1] on the sidewalk out front of the residence.

I was able to speak briefly with Mr. [WITNESS #1], who stated that he was involved in a verbal altercation with his separated wife, but still lives in the same residence. Mr. [WITNESS #1]’ wife and the mother of their children was identified as Michelle Arnold. Mr. [WITNESS #1] said the argument was over Ms. Arnold talking with another family member by phone earlier. Upon making contact with Ms. Arnold, I found her sitting on the floor in the master bedroom holding her six-day-old child and talking incoherently. Ms. Arnold had stated on a previous interaction that she suffers from schizophrenia and that she had been consuming alcohol today.

Being concerned for the baby’s safety, I continued talking with Ms. Arnold until she stood up, walked over to me, and offered me the baby, which I took. During this time, I noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from her person. Ms. Arnold walked out of the house and into the front yard, yelling and screaming that she was going to jail. Sergeant Rodriguez and I followed Ms. Arnold out of the house and I gave the baby to Mr. [WITNESS #1]. Ms. Arnold approached my patrol unit and attempted to open the rear passenger’s side door.

As Sergeant Rodriguez started walking towards Ms. Arnold, she aggressively approached him with her fist closed. As Sergeant Rodriguez attempted to create distance, I went behind her and placed her in a bear hug. As she struggled and refused verbal commands to put her hands behind her back, Sergeant Rodriguez was finally able to get Ms. Arnold’s handcuffed. Sergeant Rodriguez checked the cuffs for proper fit and double-locked them. Ms. Arnold was placed into the rear seat of my patrol unit, and the proper paperwork was completed.

Ms. Arnold was later moved to Officer Yoast’s unit and transported to the Henry County Jail. Ms. Arnold was charged with two counts of Disorderly Conduct, one for appearing in public in an intoxicated state and attempting to hinder or obstruct law enforcement.
