On Sunday December 22, 2024, I was assigned to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division. I was in uniform with my badge displayed. I was traveling East on Highway 96 towards South Houston Lake Road. There was a traffic accident at the intersection and one of the vehicles left the scene and went South on South Houston Lake Road. Dispatch gave the Ga Tag: [REDACTED BY AGENCY], which came back on a White 2017 Acura ILX to registered owner Bradley Talbot who lives at [100 BLOCK] Meyers Lake Drive Warner Robins, Ga, 31088.

Deputy (Dep.) Ferguson and I arrived on scene at [100 BLOCK] Meyers Lake Drive and saw the Acura parked in the road. We saw damage to the front of the Acura along with red paint transfer. Dep. Montague arrived on scene at the accident location and confirmed the other vehicle involved in the accident was red. We contacted Bradley on the front porch, asked if he was driving the Acura and he said yes. Bradley was read his Miranda Rights, and he agreed to speak with us. Bradley told us he was driving the Acura and was involved in the accident. Bradley said he left the scene because the other driver was becoming aggressive. When asked how the driver was becoming aggressive, he could not give us a definite answer.

We asked Bradley if he left the scene because of his suspended license, and he said no. I placed Bradley into handcuffs, checked for fit and double locked them. After I placed Bradley into custody, I smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and he was slurring his words. We asked Bradley how much he had to drink, and he told us he drank a beer when he got home. I escorted Bradley to my patrol vehicle where he was placed in the back seat. I grabbed my camera to take pictures of the Acura when I saw an open beer bottle in the center console and an open case of beer in the back seat behind the driver’s seat.

I read Bradley Implied Consent for Suspects Age 21 or Over. Bradley verbally told me no he does not consent. I transported Bradley to the Detention Center in Perry, Ga. While the Detention staff was booking Bradley, I completed a Search Warrant to obtain 2 vials of blood from Bradley. I left the Detention center and met with Judge Sammons of the Houston County Magistrate Court.

I returned to the Detention center with the signed search warrant. I met with LPN [REDACTED] and supplied her with a blood draw kit. LPN [REDACTED] drew 2 vials of blood from Bradley, secured both vials back in the blood kit box, and handed the blood kit box back to me. I returned to my patrol vehicle where I placed the blood kit box in the front passenger seat. I transported the blood kit box to the Sheriff’s Office where I placed it into the evidence refrigerator to be sent off for testing.

Bradley was released to the Detention Center, and I issued Bradley 2 citations, 1 for DUI (A-268342), and 1 for Open Container (A-268343). Dep. Montague handled the traffic accident part of the incident and issued Bradley 4 citations. 1 citation for Driving while license was suspended (A-266214), 1 for Hit and Run (A-266215), 1 for Duty to report accident resulting in property damage (A-266216), and 1 for Following too closely (A-266217).
