On 05/08/2025 at 2136 hours, I, Sgt. K. Thomas, was dispatched to [REDACTED], this city, in reference to a domestic.
On scene I made contact with [VICTIM #1], victim, and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Mrs. [VICTIM #1] advised this morning around 0500 hours she went through her boyfriends phone. His name is Dalvin Mathis [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She stated she found where he has been cheating and she confronted him. She stated her mother came and got her and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] she could go to work. While she was gone, she text Dalvin’s family (mother, sister and aunt) and told them what happened and to come get Dalvin. She stated his family was resistant and did not believe her.
When she returned home, around 2045-2100 hours, she was not surprised that Dalvin was in the apartment. She stated he was playing his playstation. She told me when she was home she found her iPad Air destroyed and confronted Dalvin about the damage. She stated she took photos of the iPad before she left and it was in perfect shape. She stated she sat on the stairs looking at her iPad and Dalvin came up to her and began striking her in the face. She told EMS that she may have lost consciousness. [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She then stated Dalvin left the residence.

I had Ofc. Hawkins take photos of the damaged iPad and the victim’s face. Her face was extremely swollen on the right side and she was complaining of blurred vision. I asked her to let me know if HHC tells her that her eye socket is or is not broken. She was transported by HHC EMS.
I will seek warrants on Dalvin Mathis for Battery FV, Criminal Damage to Property in the 2nd and Cruelty to Children 3rd.
