On 07/06/2025 at 1629 hours, I, Ofc. Lowery responded to the area of [REDACTED], in reference to a domestic. Several units were on scene at the incident location. I made contact with the victim in front of [REDACTED].
Upon arrival I made contact with victim, [VICTIM #1] and her [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [VICTIM #1] approached me very upset stating that her child’s father/ex husband, Joseph Hannah, tried to kill her in front of [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [VICTIM #1] explained that she came to pick [REDACTED BY AGENCY] up from Joseph’s residence. He came out and placed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] items in the trunk of her vehicle. Joseph stated that he wanted them to go eat some crab legs. [VICTIM #1] drove [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Joseph to eat.
Once they returned to the residence, Joseph told [VICTIM #1] that she needed to get out of the vehicle so they can talk. Joseph proceeded to make statements like “don’t play with me”. Once [VICTIM #1] got out of the car, Joseph put his arms around her neck. She demonstrated to me as if Joseph was behind her with his left arm around the front of her. [VICTIM #1] stated that he drug her near some trees and bushes near the residence.
The both somehow go to the ground. Joseph then gets on top of [VICTIM #1] with her back on the ground and placed his hands around her neck. She attempted to tell Joseph “don’t do this in front of my [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She did state that at some point she felt she could not breath. She heard Joseph tell someone “go get it”. Joseph was handed a firearm. She explained that he “cocked it back” while pointing it at her but that was it. She described the firearm as a grey or brown shotgun. She also stated that somehow Joseph took her purse, phone and keys out of the vehicle.
I observed a scratch on her left arm, right shoulder, and right cheek. I also observed redness and possible bruising on her right cheek. During the incident, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was in the vehicle the whole time.
Officers had negative contact with Joseph at the residence or any firearms. [VICTIM #1]’s property was located and returned to her.
I then spoke with [WITNESS #1], Joseph’s daughter at the residence. She explained that she was in her bedroom when she overheard her father and [VICTIM #1] verbally arguing. She did hear [VICTIM #1] yelling “stop”. She did not observe anything
Dispatch and I were unable to locate Joseph with the information that was provided to me. I confirmed the information with [VICTIM #1], she stated that he was originally from Miami. She could not give a middle initial or phone number. I was still unable to locate Joseph.
Photos were uploaded. Warrants will not be able to be taken by me due to not being able to locate any further information on Joseph.
