On Friday, September 19th, 2025, Deputy Brown responded to [100 BLOCK] Foxfire Drive in reference to a physical domestic dispute.
Before arriving on scene, I was advised by Dispatch that the offender, later identified as Joshua Reason, left the residence walking in the area. Turning onto Taylor Street from Green Street, I noticed a white male stumbling on the side of the road. The male was later identified as Joshua Reason. was dressed in an oversized tank top, shorts, and no shoes. Joshua white tank top was covered in suspected blood, and he seemed very intoxicated.
Judging by the nature and condition that Joshua was in, I drew my taser and instructed Joshua to get on the ground face down. Observing Joshua, he suffered superficial cuts to the hands and had several scratches on his face. Complying to my orders, I detained Joshua by placing him handcuffs and patted him down for weapons. I then secured him inside of my patrol vehicle.
I then notified Dispatch to have EMS en route to the incident location to check Joshua for injuries. Once I arrived at [100 BLOCK] Foxfire Drive, I noticed the front porch was covered in broken glass from the front screen door window and front door. Once inside, I made contact with Cpl. Salter who was interviewing the complainant/victim, [VICTIM #1]. I also made contact with the homeowner and witness, [WITNESS #1].
[VICTIM #1] advised that her son (Joshua) went to visit his girlfriend in the area and was later dropped off back at the residence by a friend. [VICTIM #1] stated Joshua was very belligerent and severely intoxicated. [VICTIM #1] then advised her and [WITNESS #1] attempted to calm Joshua down however, he became very hostile toward them.
[VICTIM #1] stated Joshua took a home decor custom 4×4 and broke the glass front screen door and the glass located in the front door of the residence. [VICTIM #1] also advised that during the incident, Joshua took a broom stick and began striking her in the foot causing severe bruising and pain.
[VICTIM #1] then stated that she and [WITNESS #1] attempted to force Joshua out of the residence. Joshua then punched the closet door located in the living room foyer area behind the front door. [VICTIM #1] then stated once they got Joshua out of the residence, she called the Sheriffs Office. Observing [VICTIM #1], she had several superficial injuries on her face and arms. She also suffered severe swelling to the right eye which was the result of a separate domestic injury the night before.
Looking at [VICTIM #1]’s left foot, I observed discoloration resulting from contact with the broom stick. Cpl. Salter was able to photograph [VICTIM #1]’s injuries for evidence. Cpl. Salter also photographed the broom stick, the 4×4 wood decor, the broken glass area entering the front door, and the closet that was damaged during the event.
There was also an unidentified male on scene cleaning up the glass off of the floor. He was called over to the residence by [VICTIM #1] once the incident was over.
Once EMS arrived on scene, Joshua was checked for life threatening injuries. I then advised Joshua that he was under arrest for aggravated battery and criminal damage to property. I then transported Joshua to the Houston County Detention Center for processing. While en route to the facility, Cpl. Salter relayed information from EMS that [VICTIM #1]’s foot was broken from the broom stick strike.
Once at the jail, Joshua was admitted without incident. Booking paperwork and a property sheet was filled out for Joshua and warrants were submitted to the Magistrate Court. Cpl. Salter was able to upload the photos to RMS for this case.
