On December 19th, 2025 at approximately 0824 hours I, Deputy C. Nelson, was on duty with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office as a School Resource Officer. I was wearing the uniform of the day with my badge clearly displayed on my chest. I am one of the acting School Resource Officers for CB Watson Primary School.
Last date (12/18/2025) around 1521 hours a staff member for CB Watson Primary School activated an alert using the Centegix CrisisAlert system. Contact was made with Principal M. [WITNESS #1] in attempt to investigate the reason for the alert. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised a female arrived at the school in attempt to pick up a child. When the female was denied entry into the school due to dismissal procedures, the female physically pushed a staff member.
Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated once the situation was calmed down she escorted the female into the front office and asked her who she was picking up. The female advised she was there to pick up a [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] asked the female for her name and she advised it was Naketa Veal. Ms. [WITNESS #1] made contact with the parent of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and verified Ms. Veal was allowed to pick up [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] was informed I would be following up on this incident next date (12/19/2025).
On this date (12/19/2025) I located the surveillance footage which showed the female standing outside in the parent pick up area. The female then grabbed the door and attempted to walk into the main lobby area as the teacher was escorting a student to his parent. As the teacher was attempting to prevent the female from entering the building, the female pushed the teacher with both her forearms. The teacher never touched the female and was only using her body to block the doorway.
Once the female pushed the teacher out of the way of the door, she entered the main lobby area. The female then attempted to gain access to the front office but was unable to due to another teacher standing in front of the doorway leading into the main office. The female then sat down in a chair until Ms. [WITNESS #1] made contact with her.
I contacted Ms. [WITNESS #1] via telephone and asked her to provide me with a statement from the teacher, who was identified as [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] allowed Ms. [VICTIM #1] to speak with me over the telephone, I asked her if she wanted to pursue criminal charges and she advised yes. I informed Ms. [VICTIM #1] to complete the statement and have Ms. [WITNESS #1] email me a copy of it.
Due to not having the information necessary to positively identifying Naketa Veal, I went to Facebook and was able to locate a Naketa Veal. The profile picture matched the surveillance footage for both subjects. I also noticed the Facebook page was not private and was open to everyone to be viewed. I then checked the about information on Facebook and was able to locate the date of birth but not the year. The date of birth was [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I also was able to locate in the about information that she attended Northside High School between 1999 to 2001.
I then accessed Infinite Campus and using the search all option. I searched the name Naketa and was able to locate the name of Naketa McClendon with the date of birth of [REDACTED BY AGENCY], 1983. That subject also went to Northside High School at the same time of Naketa Veal according to Facebook.
After locating all the information, I searched RMS for the name of Naketa McClendon. I was able to locate a driver license photo. I then showed Ms. [WITNESS #1] at which time she confirmed the female in the photo was indeed Naketa McClendon (Veal).
After receiving the positive ID from Ms. [WITNESS #1] I informed her that I would seeking warrants for Simple Battery on School Personnel and Disorderly Conduct. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised she would be speaking with the Operations Division with the Board of Education in reference to issuing a ban letter.
A copy of the surveillance footage will be attached in RMS to this report as well as a copy of the statement from Ms. [VICTIM #1].
