On 11/20/2025, at approximately 14:34 hours, I, Deputy Darius Patterson (Badge #9548), was on duty with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Division, in uniform, with my badge displayed. While on patrol at Perry High, Mrs. [WITNESS #1], assistant principal reported discovering a taser on 17-year-old student Ti’yonna Heath.
Mrs. [WITNESS #1] stated they had received information indicating Ti’yonna was in possession of a taser, prompting them to conduct an administrative search, during which the taser was found. I met with Ti’yonna, ensuring to read her Miranda rights, to which she expressed a desire to talk without an attorney present. Ti’yonna admitted to having shared this information about the taser with only two of her friends but couldn’t clarify why she felt the need to do so. She claimed she had forgotten the taser was in her bag when she arrived at school, stating she carries it for safety reasons at work.
I observed the taser which was blue with S & D Leopard printed on it. The taser was functional at the time it was in my posession. Based on the evidence and her statements, I placed Ti’yonna under arrest, handcuffing her behind her back and conducting a search for contraband or any additional weapons, but nothing else was found. She was charged with carrying a weapon within a school safety zone and was subsequently transported to the Houston County Detention Center. I submitted the taser into evidence at the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.
