On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at approximately 1248 hours, Dep. Nelson was contacted by a teacher who stated there was a homeless looking male sitting on the side of a building.
Dep. Nelson and I were on duty in the cafeteria of Warner Robins High School when a teacher reached out about an older male subject, who appeared to be homeless sitting outside of the M building on campus. Dep. Nelson and I attempted to make contact with the subject who walked away from us and was hiding his face. The subject who was later identified as Willie Washington, B/M, DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/1952 turned towards us when we called for him and we asked him was he okay. Willie began to curse at us and messing with items in his pockets. Willie was asked several times if he was okay and he would turn and look at us and then walk a little more.
Dep. Nelson and I continued to follow Willie to ensure he would leave campus. When Willie approached the roadway, he asked us what we wanted. Dep Nelson advised Willie he could not be on campus. Willie told Dep. Nelson, he could not tell him he couldn’t be there, and he would come on campus if he wanted to. Dep. Nelson advised Willie he was not given permission to be on campus and that was the only way he could be there. Willie began mumbling things and stated, “we did not know who we were fu*king with.” Dep. Nelson and I advised Willie several times to leave campus and walk away. Willie would walk a little down the sidewalk and then would walk back on the campus grounds. Willie then walked into traffic and finally crossed the road walking around McConnell Talbert Stadium (the MAC). Willie continued to walk in the roadway and back out of the roadway. Dep. Nelson and made the decision to arrest Willie when the situation was not resolving itself.
Dep. Nelson and I yelled for Willie to get out of the road as we walked towards him. Willie exited the roadway back in front of the MAC. We approached Willie and attempted to place him in custody. Willie resisted and snatched his arms from us and twisted his body to prevent us from detaining him. Dep. Nelson and I wrestled with Willie for a short time and ended up taking Willie to the ground and placing him in custody. Willie was handcuffed to the rear, checked for fit and double locked for safety. Willie was searched incident to arrest with negative findings. Willie was placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle and transported to the Houston County Detention Center. Once at the detention center, Willie was advised he was not allowed to come back on the campus of Warner Robins High School, and he was officially criminally trespassed.
Willie was charged with Criminal Trespass, Obstruction and Disorderly Conduct.
Warrants to be taken.
