On 11/21/2025, I, Officer Hill with the Centerville Police Department, responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to a hit-and-run accident that occurred at the intersection of N. Houston Lake Road and Matt Keen Road.
Upon arrival, I made contact with the driver of a blue 2023 Tesla Model Y bearing Georgia license plate [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. The driver, later identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he had been traveling south on N. Houston Lake Road when he was sideswiped from the rear by a black Kia Optima. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that after the collision, the Kia continued traveling south on N. Houston Lake Road without stopping. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] reported no injuries. The Tesla sustained minor damage to the rear passenger-side bumper and quarter panel.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] provided camera footage from the Tesla’s onboard cameras. While reviewing the video, it was observed that the Kia Optima was traveling behind the Tesla and attempted to change lanes from the left lane to the right lane. During the lane change, the Kia sideswiped the Tesla. The video further showed the Kia continuing southbound without stopping. The initial footage did not clearly show the license plate; however, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] later downloaded the footage and emailed a clear image of the Kia’s license plate.
The Kia Optima was bearing Georgia license plate [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. A records search through NCIC indicated that the vehicle was registered to an address in Kathleen, GA. A BOLO was issued for the vehicle.
Later, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle at the registered address. I was notified and responded to the location. Prior to my arrival, deputies advised that the vehicle had minor front driver-side damage consistent with the earlier collision.
Upon arrival, I observed and photographed the damage. Deputies on scene informed me that the driver of the Kia, Zora Hendricks, admitted to driving the vehicle in the area around the time of the collision, stating she worked nearby.
During my interview with Hendricks, she again admitted to operating the vehicle earlier in the day in the area where the collision occurred. Hendricks stated she was unaware she had been involved in a collision and believed she had struck a curb after thinking a vehicle was in her blind spot.
At 2148 hours, I placed Hendricks under arrest for Leaving the Scene of an Accident. She was handcuffed, and the handcuffs were checked for proper fit and double-locked. I transported Hendricks to the Houston County Detention Center, where she was turned over to jail staff without incident.
Hendricks was issued two citations: Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Improper Lane Change.
